We are starting to be talked about re Leon Bailey in the news a bit more and the merc over the last few hours as well as the typical likes of Southampton and Everton.

If he's going anyway and Villa had £25mil rejected then personally I'd offer £30mil cash. We ideally need a CB as well but if for the most part this season we are indeed lining up with a back 4 then I'd forego that and retain Benkovic in the squad.

I like Bailey because he's similar to Barnes in some ways I.e he likes to cut in field, stretches play, scores goals and assists similar to Barnes too and passes into the box regularly. He's not far from 6ft either so again, added height in offence and defence.

We are not really even linked with him. Shame, looks villa bound

Yea I know it’s desperation 😂 but you never know With Leicester what’s going on.

I think it's fairly obvious what's going on.

His agent is trying to get him a move. Several clubs are tentatively interested but his wage demands are huge and Leverkusen want over 40m euros.

I meant in general mate wouldn’t suprise any of us if someone out the blue popped up in the next few days and we signed him. Loan or permanently! We will have someone lined up and will make a move but who ????? Let’s hope it’s Bailey

After our business so far there is no way we stump up this kind of money, not happening.

We haven't even had our 1 big sale yet.

Villa must be pretty certain they'll sell Grealish at this point, and have a minimum that they think they'll receive. I wonder though why wouldn't we be interested, that teams all of a sudden being linked is a means of trying to drive up they price of a player for a competitor so they spank more of their cash? Maybe we've already sorted ourselves and it's only a matter of time? That's me being vaguely optimistic btw. Which doesn't always happen.

I don't know what our problem is with signing a right winger. We've needed it desperately for 4 years now and once again it's looking we end up with Albrighton on the right.

I can't understand why we won't sell to generate the money required to improve the squad. Ghezzal is an easy sell, just get it done - what's the delay? Perez has two years left, just get what we can because in a years time we'll get half of whatever we get now. Amartey, Choudhury, Mendy, Praet at least two of these can be moved on and we wouldn't miss them, and yet despite all this they stay whilst we have this ongoing problem.

Wages are probably the problem with them been high.
We can’t shift the players on because of this! That’s my guess.

31st of August is when the window closes, plenty of time.

This isn't FIFA or FM

Well remember this post come then as this just feels no different to previous pre seasons. As it stands we're relying on Daka coming good as Vardy looked spent last season, Maddison looks lost, Iheanacho unlikely to carry on his form behind closed doors, Barnes is still injured. We're going to struggle for goals.

Loving your optimism. I'm sure you'll be happily proved wrong.

Do not get this Bailey fever, it’s bizarre and he in no way warrants it. Can only assume shiny toy syndrome is setting in early this year.

Heard this guy is really frustrating, very good one game bad the next 5. Not sure he's what we need.

Gerrim in if we aren't gerriming another RW though.

I suspect Pereira has a release fee that can always be met at a given point, but until then if we fancy someone else more there’ll be negotiations behind the scenes. I’d love us to get Bailey or Madueke and the club will have definitely looked at them in great detail too. Let’s see what the club can do. Also, if we are selling perhaps better to buy first otherwise prices will go up when selling clubs know for sure that we’re looking for replacements.
