Koke Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 (edited) We looked really good today, particularly first half. We progressed the ball foward really well. Incisive, fast moving football. When is Evans even back? Edited 7 August 2021 by Koke 2
foxfan92 Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Just now, Koke said: We looked really good today, particularly first half. We progressed the ball foward really well. Just in time to play Man City again I think (although if he's only just back), and whether he'll start or not must surely depend on how well whoever is standing in for him is doing, whether that's Amartey, Benkovic etc or someone else we've signed.
STUHILL Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Imagine it will be exactly the same team start the game, even if we do sign a new CB/RW Another chance for Big Dan to impress. 2

Pretty much this. Only exception for me might be if it's either a CB with a lot of Prem experience, like Tarkowski, or Kabak who Cags will have played with before. Even in the case of the latter, a few days training probably not enough. I don't see anyone getting ahead of Perez at short notice, especially given he's back linking up with Ricardo down that side. Whatever people think of Perez, he doesn't get enough credit for helping Ricardo play probably the best football of his career. 10
goody2028 Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Can’t wait for this, my first match since villa last year. KP should be rocking and going into it with confidence after today. +3 plz.
TrentFox Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Same team for me, but with Albrighton for Perez. 3
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Kel has to start imo. Whether it's up front or instead of perez.

LestaAl Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Please win the opening game, annoyed will miss this one.
Popular Post NaijaFox Posted 7 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 7 August 2021 (edited) While the Fofana injury still casts a pall. Ricardo is looking darn near his best again. Harvey Barnes looks like he's back without missing much of a beat. Bertrand, among his other attributes, will seemingly spare us this season the collective agony of watching Madders aim his free-kicks at the first opposition player. Madders himself seem determined to kick on again and relaunch himself into mainstream England contention (hopefully he can stay healthy this season). Soyuncu, Ndidi, Tielemans, Vards, Kasper all look raring to go, and Albrighton, Soumare, Thomas, Daka, Nacho, Perez, Amartey (at least, on the basis of tonight's showing) give us quality depth and tactical flexibility, while Evans and Castagne will shortly be getting back to further strengthen the team (as would Justin a little bit further down the road). Still hoping for that quality RW (and another CB), but what is there not to like about these FOXES?! Bring on the darn season! Edited 7 August 2021 by NaijaFox 7
Pliskin Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Perez had a good game. I’m the first to jump on his back but I thought he was really good today…. 3

Perez is noticeably better on the right in that shape than Albrighton. One of my top five biggest foxestalk frustrations is people on here completely ignoring Perez' part in some of the best football we've played under Rodgers. He works well with Ricardo, he plays a completely different game to Albrighton. Do I think he's good enough to help us consistently break the top four? No. Do I hope we sign better? Yes. But he's the best right winger we have in the system Rodgers plays and thankfully Rodgers sees that even if FT doesn't. 13 1
StriderHiryu Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Any idea how Wolves have been lining up in pre-season? Nuno was an infamously defensive manager but supposedly their new manager is an attacking one. So maybe we won't see yet another 0-0 between the two teams? TBH even if they decide to park the bus, today's result will give us the adrenaline shot we may have needed. Many players look match sharp already, and we can change games dramatically with our subs now too. Jimenez is very good, but that type of player I think Amartey is well suited to play against as he isn't a fast player. Wolves are always a good team, but this is the most optimistic I've felt playing them in a while. COYB! I bet Trincao scores just to rub our right winger dreams in our faces, but I think we win it overall. 1

Albrighton works harder, tackles harder, has better end product and better vision. But it’s all about opinions. We just have different ones. Brendan seems to agree with you, so who am I to argue? 😂 5
STUHILL Posted 7 August 2021 Posted 7 August 2021 Not felt this confident for a season opener for a long time. Obviously Fofana is a huge loss for us, more in an attacking sense strangely but we were hugely impressive today and we have game changers on the bench. As I said today, defend well and we will always create chances to win the game. Confidence will be sky high. Hopefully we can ride that wave

They started out with 2 strikers but today went for a front 3 with Trincao and Adama. early signs that they will attack more 1 1

TBH I think that's good for Wolves to do that, they need to move away from their counter attacking style. Think they are going through a transition period now, a bit like us under Puel. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Edited 7 August 2021 by StriderHiryu 1
Dan Posted 8 August 2021 Posted 8 August 2021 Wolves are a side that have been used to camping everybody in their own final third for the last two years and are going to come out of their shell a bit. Hopefully they overcompensate, leave themselves open for us to give them a smacking. I think we'll win this 2-0 and we'll look good in doing so. I've really enjoyed us for parts of the last two games. We're a good team. 1
Iran Posted 8 August 2021 Posted 8 August 2021 (edited) I am confident and believe in Daniel Amartey ability to fill in at centre-back for Wolves match given how excellently he played yesterday in the Community Shield. Essentially, I would like to see the same team and formation (4-2-3-1): Schmeichel Pereira-Amartey-Söyüncü-Bertrand Tielemans-Ndidi Pérez-Maddison-Barnes Vardy Edited 8 August 2021 by Iran

Daka, Soumare, KDH all options to come on and change the game. Wtf
