The interest in Barvey Harnes from Liverpool was legit, they didn't have enough money though... then he's signed the new contract. Long may he stay here

Maddison seems to be copping most the stick but Barnes was absolutley dreadful today. By far the worst and most wasteful player on the pitch. Really needs to develop some actual skill such as a step over so he can beat his man instead of constantly trying to run in central on his right foot. All just gets a bit to predictable after the first 5 times

Lacking the sharpness/fitness needed to be at the top of his game, also needs a goal. I’m not sure the above is true for him all the time though, today woeful yes but you are choosing to forget how good this guy actually is.

He was great against Man City…. His game (when he’s on it) is effective…. Just not been at the races so far…

I was on about todays performance. I know hes a good player when hes on it but then so is Maddison. Barnes was just absolutley horrific today

Probably because Barnes lacked quality, not effort....

Yes not his best game, and frustrating at times to watch, but to be jeered and told to F*** off the pitch was quite amusing.

I’m not sure what fitness programme he’s on but it hasn’t worked, it's not helping his game which is powerful driving runs. He looks thin in the face and body compared to last season.

His game needs a lot more work. He’s quite poor when playing with back to goal and tries the quick risky pass too often when it’s clear the pass isn’t on.

 

He looks a fairly big strong lad and because of his pace defenders wouldn’t want to get to tight to him. He needs to learn to get it into his feet and use his body to protect the ball and if the defender has backed off then he needs to turn and ask the defenders some questions. If he can add this to his game then he’ll be a hell of a player.

How good is Barnes left foot? His goal and assist last night was off his supposed weaker foot. Last season he scored a load with his left too, he's improving so much its frightening.
