which probably doubles down on him not wanting to have been in Zambia ref quarantine here on his return. (Unless he was suspended).

Two yellow cards in his last two Zambia appearances

Our goalie and recent scapegoat are going to the World Cup. :)

Vestergaard looked a bit shaky first half but was part of a rock defense that kept Austria at bay the last 20 minutes. Schmeichel had nothing to do.

Looks like he played on the left side of a back 3. If Evans is fit, and with Ihenacho and Vardy firing up front, 3-5-2 looks like the way to go, with Soyuncu at RCB, Evans in the centre, and Vestergaard at LCB.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has said that both Ovie Ejaria and Ademola Lookman are in his provisional squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, which all but confirmed their international switch.

When asked if he has spoken to Ejaria and Lookman in a Q&A on Elegbete TV, Rohr said: “Yea, we are in touch.”

“He is in our scouting program. We are seeing every weekend what they are doing.”

“WE have around 30-35 players, and now I have to do a list already for the AFCON of 40 names CAF was asking for.”

“We have until the beginning of November. I have to put together this list of 40 names, of course, Lookman and Ejaria, they are part of it, and we have to watch what they are doing at their clubs,” Rohr added.

Schmeichel conceded his first goal in qualifying, 90th minute of the ninth game.

He went nuts at the guy who allowed the cross to come in ….. not surprised - would have been an impressive record to have gone the whole campaign without conceding ….
