I’ve got a feeling The unleash the dogs of war one at the CL game a few years ago may have made a couple at the club uncomfortable with the direction future one’s were heading.

I also think the club has its hands tied somewhat on a number of issues, they stopped us mowing the pitch in pretty patterns fgs.

Look at the amount of grief they are getting on Twitter about the Covid checks etc. They are merely trial running something which is probably going to be mandatory pretty soon. They are just  conducting a box ticking exercise.

You can compare that with WSL game tomorrow, they have opened three blocks on one side of the West Stand which have pretty much sold out. If they were really taking the Covid thing seriously you think they would have absorbed a few more costs and opened up the entire stand and had people spread out a little more.

Just my opinion.

Sad state of affairs when your club would rather overpay an agency to put on generic "displays" than engage their actual fans. The Napoli game i’m lead to believe will see another one of these catalogue bought in ones.

I agree but you have to put it into context.

To us it our club, our team, our passion, unfortunately to the leaders of the club its ultimately a business.

No business which a multi million pound turnover is going to overly engage with any individual or group who it deems to be a risk to its wider PR.

Due what could be deemed have anti-social elements the stickers, graffiti, people hiding their identity on photos or tifo which they would see being a little edgy.

Unfortunately in the UK fans still have little power even after the chaos cause by the super league.

Not an attack by the way, just a view of the situation.

There’s some things this club is superb at. There are others, it is absolutely shocking at.

The problem is they don’t understand that the criticism is at the aim of improving things - I think we all agree that ticketing and catering are the pits. Fan engagement seems to be aimed at two demographics and everyone else can get stuffed

Liverpool and Manchester United are all huge businesses in this country what haven’t had a problem allowing their fans to do independent displays. The two biggest clubs in the country.

Even a club like PSG who are an absolute money making machine and effectively a sports washing device as well have no issues letting their ultras decorate their stadium.

It can happen - just there’s a section of LCFC hell bent on creating a particular ‘matchday experience’ in my opinion. Before you know it, they will lose the very thing that for the last ten years has made the KP an atmospheric stadium and its that what is the attraction.

I'm not saying it can't. However some organisation are more risk adverse then others.

I'm not saying I'm right, just offering a view.

Sometimes you have to play the game, a few little tweaks to how a group is perceived can make a massive difference.

Sometimes its how the criticism is delivered.

Which two demographic do you think they aim to engage?

Susan in particular loved that design.

Why are the club displays so frowned upon? I always think they’ve been great.

Totally agree that fan led ones are better but don’t get the bad opinion of club ones when they’re trying to achieve the same thing.

The shiny flag one where the whole ground had them was particularly good, think it was a champions league game but my memory isn’t the best.

What would probably be best for all parties was if the club financed fan designed displays and worked together.

Tifo/displays is something done the world over, rooted in supporter culture.

Groups like here with Union FS chuck their own money in alongside donations kindly made by fellow supporters. These plus the money made from scarves, stickers etc fund the displays.

Not many clubs in the UK have a group like this and whilst obviously I am biased I think we are in a fortunate position to all support a club who have an active supporters group who want to make tifos and who are very good them.

The club paying well over the odds to agencies who show them catalogue or off the shelf designs which are made for any tom dick or harry club goes against everything special about them. The club with their bottomless pit of cash selecting identikit generic designs whilst actively stopping UFS is again imo really sad.

And plus they when coming from the supporters come from a real place and wanting it to inspire and fandom.

I fully agree with everything you’ve said and said in the post before I agree fan ones are better.
I just don’t get why club ones are frowned upon cause they also boost the atmosphere but it’s got to be in addition to fan led displays.
The fact they’re not allowing you guys to do your own displays is nothing short of shitty.

Families as proven by the amount of things provided at the rear of the Family Stand.

Age groups 40 to 65 upwards - understandable given they probably throw the most money down

Although just to spot out on the Family Stand and the band playing there now on a stage….that was ripping off the Blues Bar at the Holiday Inn who did it first.

You know LCFC employing marketing staff on big wonga with degrees etc aping a bar across the road.

I personally think we lack some real innovation when it comes to that stuff. Even the TV/movie/album matchday covers thing is a rip off of what West Brom did for their programmes

The band is the biggest waste of time/money I'm sure. We sit in the family stand and have never seen anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to them.

Just sharing this again because it is absolutely fantastic, I hope they don't manage to extinguish the last few flames of true fan passion from the game :(

Wow that’s made me sad that the club are not trying to support union fs and their displays. They were absolutely class and stood us apart from the other clubs in the league.

I think we’ve got to appreciate the ownership culture here a little. Many clubs state we’ve got the best ownership in the league and I wouldn’t say our atmosphere is the worst in the league.

I could see the club having a code of ethics internally and the union FS approach being seen as tribalism that the club don’t want to be associated with.

It’s hardly Italian ultra but it’s a step in that sort of direction, albeit a long war off and the club don’t have control.

How has the engagement gone with the club so far?

I don't think anyone is expecting like the one linked below (from my city btw haha) but what we need is something decent at least, simple but effective and plenty of noise. First game of the season the KP was a library. No one to be heard. All wolves fans. When we were in the championship the place was rocking! What's happened? Both fans and the club hierarchy who's in charge of it have to answer for it. Let's not be man city please.

WOW.

I think we should give up.  :D

Kiss goodbye to any chance of safe standing.:D

Any chance of them turning the music down a bit. ****ing horrendous before the game. Can't even have the teams read out now without some music being played.  Why play music right up to kick off too.  Absolutely no chance of any atmosphere before kick off.
