Isco is the polar opposite to what we need at the moment imo. He’s massively skilful but would blow over in the wind

There’d be little point having Isco scampering about up front when we ship in goals down our end would there?

It’d be like spending a good sum of money over the summer on Daka when we already have Vardy and Nacho in front of him in the pecking order. That money needed to do on shoring up the back four. That’s where the issue lies

We don't need to sign any more defenders, we've got more right backs than a Gary Megson/Southgate wet dream. We can't just keep stockpiling defenders

 

Our manager, apparently heads and shoulders above anybody else we could ever hope to attract, needs to get his defence and midfield full of proven international quality players looking like they've played the game before.

...the backline only became an ussue as soon  as Fofana became injured!!!

  At the time,  we had, Soyuncu, Evans, Fofana, Armartey and at a push Benkovic and the possibility of Tarkowski coming in on a free next season.  The option's of Wilf or Castagne dropping in to the Backline was also a possibility, as we had previously utilised those choices.

  Going through the season with just Vardy and Nacho was a recipe for writing off the whole season. Rodgers reluctance to rely on Nacho is a major factor, playing him upfront as a lone striker was an option but would not have been playing to his strengths, or the benefit of the team.

  Vardy was off the boil the previous season, he supported and worked with Nacho well but could not finish. All we needed was for Vardy to breakdown, and there would not have been an option upfront, and to put ourselves into a position such as that, we would have been totally justified to be asking for Rodgers's head.

  The acquisition of Daka was needed but the way he has been used due to Vardy regaining his form, gives the impression of a luxury player. As soon as we went back to one upfront and Nacho becoming just an option, the view will always be, we did not need the extra cover bringing Daka in.

No, but presumably he'd be scampering about in the middle?

 

I'd love to see one of our current midfielders do something that remotely approximated 'scampering'. Imagine the defence having a forward pass available to a player in space.
