Contract ends in 2022 and he has been used less and less over the years

Inter wouldn't be able to afford Youri at the moment as their finances are still a complete mess

According to Wiki he has played 25 league games last season and 6 already this season. He is obviously still an important player for them. As for Inter , if they want somebody they usually find a way. If I was Your I though I would run my contract down and wait for the big signing on fee. As a free agent at 25 he could ask very big wages.

Real Madrid to Leicester City would be a strange move for him, he is one of their core players. Youri to them would also be unlikely, if he leaves , my guess he would go to Italy. Inter would appreciate his qualities I reckon.

He really isn't. Bit part player for the past 3 seasons or so plus he's injured loads. If fit he'd be great but very high risk right now

Read a while back he's one of the ones they are desperate to unload.  On ₤225K/week and not delivering commensurate value.

This season he has played just 166 minutes (not even 2 games worth) and that is even with starting 2 games

Last season he played just 1,092 minutes (12.1 games) with just 10 starts in all competitions

He may have been important for them previously but he doesn't seem to be anymore

Isco would be absolute quality.  You know he won't misplace any passes backwards to the defenders when in the other half of the pitch.  Gerrimin

There are too many negatives about this. I just believe City need a complete reinvigoration.

Would a Spanish 29yo with a large family and having spent his whole career in Spain take to such a change in his life? Would he be motivated enough to provide the drive that's needed b us?

Love to have him alongside Tielemans, but their paths don't coincide at City.

What's wrong with Saffron Lane?

Big Aylestone club was like Aleppo on a Saturday night as I remember, the Midland was more peaceful usually. These days its almost genteel but a bit scruffy.

You should probably watch more football instead of basing judgement on Wikipedia tbf

Is that even the case after all the Lukaku money?

I know Serie A is generally financially messed up.

....Youri contract ends 2023, a long time to rundown a contract, especially playing the way he is!!!

He had the problem at Monaco and if this continue it could come back to repeat itself. He was very poor at Monaco and when he came to us he got on top of his game, which says to me it is a mental thing with him. Take him out of the firing line, Maddison wants to be a #8, play him in that position.

He certainly needs a rest at the moment , he looks mentally jaded. If Maddison had any real defensive skills he could deputise , but he doesn't. As for the contract thing Youri is not the sort of player to deliberately not give his best. I think he takes pride in his professionalism.

....sometimes the player himself does not know what is best for himself!!!

He does have moments of real quality but we need more consistency and we are not getting it from him. If we played with a three in midfield Maddison can still create within that formation and the defensive aspect would then be covered.

I think we need to toughen up the midfield rather than get yet another Maddison, Perez, Youri, Praet type player.

We have no leaders in the middle or any real ‘ard nuts’

Isco is the polar opposite to what we need at the moment imo. He’s massively skilful but would blow over in the wind

He’s another that isn’t very good off the ball. We already have too many players that make us easy to play through.

......what a great potential to have someone of this quality involved in the team!!!

Just the quality and mentality Rodgers is looking to bring in and we will have to spend a fair sum to bring in the quality that he wants. Potentially under £20m in the January window.  A player that was previously in the market for £81m a few seasons ago, let's hope he fancies an adventure.

Wellens did.

When they offer you cash or a discount off something in store, I'd always take the cash.

Would prefer a straight £60m for Youri

But for Newcastle if they come in for Youri we’d Double that price plus a bit more £160m sounds a nice round number, and it’s not that the Saudis can’t afford that ? 😉
