I thought his team were great against us in Europe last season. Probably has a tiny budget in comparison to managers in the Prem.

Also he's said to have said he's a huge fan of Scottish football when Celtic were looking for a manager.... implying that he wants a job abroad

After flicking through some pages on this thread, I’m really hoping Rodgers stays.

Whys that then? Always makes me giggle when fans try and use the alternative suggestions from other fans as the reason to carry on the shit show of the current incumbent.

Put your neck on the line and give some better suggestions if Rodgers walks out to Man Utd next week (more likely than us sacking him this season)

Because some of the names thrown in the hat are laughable and some are unrealistic. I won’t ‘put my neck on the line’ because I’m not wobbling at the knees about the situation, whether it’s panicking about our season right now or the fact he’s being lined up for the Utd job, which is all bollocks paper talk as far as we are concerned.

Hahahaa what a surprise!

These threads are pointless because as fans we shouldn’t be expected to know the answer to that question.

But the Director of Football should have an option A, B and C for the next 3 years should they be required. They should already have friendly relations with their agents and have potentially even met a couple informally over the past few years.

If Rogers goes go and get potter from Brighton

The bandwagon/obvious choice isn't always the best. I've doubts over Potter but our club has never been overly imaginative about the managerial appointments so it would probably be who we'd go for.

For me, Rodgers gets the season unless we are In a real relegation battle but to get involved in the discussion.

Potter is the only one currently employed that you'd think we could poach, but it would be a gamble and he plays Dan Burn as a left wing back FFS.

Then you've got the likes of Nuno or Frank Lampard.

Don't really know my European managers but is Favre still unemployed?

Probably be someone like Ronald Koeman.

Yep hasn’t managed a team since leaving Dortmund he would be ideal for us imo

Lucien Favre, revived monchengladbach from relegation to Champions league and was good with Dortmund. He's pretty much the Swiss Rodgers, dont think he'll be any better than him over his career here if he does come here, but hopefully he'll be able to revive that early spark we had with Rodgers that has flickered out.

Go on then The Black Scorpion, who’s your replacement to take the hot seat if/when Rodgers goes?

Already given my pick, Rudi Garcia would be a tremendous fit to carry on the pursuit of challenging for Europe each year. Great track record bringing through young players and usually hits the ground running at clubs like Rodgers.

Can we not just employ Roy Keane for a week?

I'd like to just see his reaction when Maddison turns up to training with his see through handbag. I think he could coax more aggression out of Perez through fear. Perhaps a dream team of nasty and nice Brendan and Roy?

Ruben Amorim seems very upwardly mobile, doing a good job at virtually everyone he's managed - I've kept a bit of an eye on Sporting ever since we were initially linked and I'm quite impressed, a reservation is maybe the lack of goals, but we've got a lot more quality than them up front and he can clearly organise a side consistently.

Regarding Rodgers - I'm not viciously anti the bloke and I think he deserves credit for what he's done here, but I do think he's probably reached the end of the line. He's not enhancing us anymore. This isn't reactionary - today was just another example to back up something I've felt a lot of the season. When Newcastle were linked I thought there was some logic in it for all parties.

You're assuming form is permanent

Surely Brighton would be very happy to let him go and even use Uber delivery service for safe arrival to us...

What are you getting, who you getting it from???

Get real mate..

Ahh ok. Don’t know anything about him so can’t judge.

Not sure if already mentioned but could see us moving for someone like Ruben Amorim if Rodgers goes.

Already been linked with him before. It would be a big gamble on a young manager with a lot of potential.

1) anyone talking of sacking rodgers has little footballing braincells

2) I think this thread isnt about sacking him anyway but if he left us. Anyone who wants him sacked can refer to point 1

3) some of y'all here are deluded. Ten Haag to leicester? zidane to leicester? next it will be pep to leicester.

4) what time scale are we talking about here

5) if its right now he leaves for united. Potter unlikely. Mancini unlikely. Gasperini unlikely. Can see us move for someone like Villas Boas with prem experience. Doubt they would want to try for Gerrard but wouldnt be unhappy with him. We do like the old prem experience though. Last minute sweep for Howe?

I’ve heard of him, not sure what club success / silverware if any, he’s had in the last few years.

Why?

He sets his teams up well. Tactically very astute. Excellent man manager and seems a thoroughly respectful and decent individual.

He has over performed in the Premier League. His career is on an upward trajectory and he will have more than a point to prove if he came to us. If Rodgers left, which I don't want but expect will.happen sooner rather than later, I for one would welcome Potter's appointment.
