I reckon it would be Unai Emery.

  • Experience in the Premier League
  • Proven winner of major European Trophies
  • Speaks OK English

Not saying he'd be the person I would go for, but Top will want someone that can compete in Europe and better at the helm of the club next. West Ham have been sensational this season, but with how good our squad is, that should be us. They are over-performing, we are massively under-performing.

West Ham obviously have momentum and play to their strengths but they have recruited and moulded what they already had perfectly. Every player slots in seamlessly, 4-2-3-1 and pound for pound as good as anything around them in the league and Europe. Very impressed with them. Class wingers, a brilliant ACM, two very effective holding midfielders who also score goals and just a solid defence and keeper.

They wipe the floor with us  as can be seen in the last 3 games we've played them. It's painful.

Even if he were the guy we wanted I don’t think he’d make the move.

The Premier League IS the Super League now, which is why Conte and Mourinho were prepared to take the Spurs job. After the big 6, Leicester is very tempting because of our facilities, structure and stadium plans. As a result even if we aren't as big as the elite teams we are fast becoming (if not already are) a very desirable team purely because of the league we are in.

They aren't exactly setting Europe alight right now

So why go after somebody who’s record in Europe is hardly inspiring?I now hear he’s 2/1 favourite to take over from Ole.Can’t see their fans being very impressed tbh.Infact it’s likely to go down like a cup of cold sick.

Maybe, but we aren’t Spurs as far as being a draw is concerned, like it or not.

Maybe he’d come, but Emery is in a pretty good situation right now.  “Comfortable” is a good word for it.

Don’t think he’ll get sacked, as would cost a small fortune to pay him and his staff off. But if he was approached under contract, the club might not put up too much of a fight to keep him. We shall see.

Potter is a poundland Rodgers. **** me we've got problems and it's frustrating at the minute but I'd rather we let Brendan try and fix things than replace him- chances are we'd be worse off.

It's not actually a case of who would replace him, simply you'd be crazy to want him gone. The football's not been great, the ineffectiveness at both ends of the pitch from set pieces is maddening/worrying but nothing that's unsolvable. There's about 10 clubs that all think they can sneak into the 4th spot by May and we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot thinking simply swapping the boss would make it more likely to be us.

There's maybe a case that someone like Lampard or Gerrard could come in, maybe one of the forruns but there's no guaranatees whatsoever that any of them could get us any higher in the table. The fact Rodgers had us there before, had us playing the best football I've ever seen down here AND actually won some silverware here buys him a lot more time to get things right.

There was an interesting interview on the radio with Stuart Pearce just after the transfer window closed, where the interviewer was saying how West Ham hadn`t brought a striker in, or done much transfer buisness, especially since they had Europe this season, and Pearce replied that it was hard to get the players they wanted, because they were only interested in players who were better than their current first team players and would go straight into their first team.  He said that was the best way to improve your squad depth, because the current first teamer would be dropping down to the bench, and making the bench stronger.  He said just bringing in players to fill the bench, but who weren`t as good as their first team players wasn`t the route they wanted to go down.   I thought it made alot of sense to be honest, and showed how clear minded they are on what is the best way forward for them.

It’s way too early to be talking about this stuff. I get it though a lot of sackings happening in the space of a week! But those clubs have bigger issues going on.

rogers will get it right. He knows we are well below where we should be. I’m sure he’s hell bent on a strong finish this season. Let’s get behind him but he does need to fix the glaringly obvious weaknesses in the team right now that are hurting our position in the table.

Lucien Favre, revived monchengladbach from relegation to Champions league and was good with Dortmund. He's pretty much the Swiss Rodgers, dont think he'll be any better than him over his career here if he does come here, but hopefully he'll be able to revive that early spark we had with Rodgers that has flickered out.

Insert 'defence full of holes' joke here.

The club stuck by Puel for months he had a run of winning 1 in 7 with 5 loses and was sack after a run of winning 1 in 8 with 6 loses.

Baring in mind Rodgers has more in the bank, he would have to go on a smilier run to the others to lose the players to be on the brink.

Favre is a good football man to be sure, but a bit long in the tooth.

In the context that BR will leave eventually, unless he creates some kind of Fergie dynasty, I’m confident there will be a long queue of high ranking managers that would love to work for LCFC.

This topic is everything that is wrong with football fans theses days.

No patients.

We are not going to get European football every season just be happy we are in the race.

We are not going to win silverware every season.

A season like this builds a team, helps players develop, you get to find your weak links and improve as squad going forward.

As long as we don't find ourselves in a relegation battle this season i don't see the need to sack BR.

Don't get me wrong I don't agree with every descion he has made but I'm backing him.

You make some good points, but do you not consider for one second that Rodgers effectiveness is wearing off and when managers are in that position, one of two things happens. They overhaul the squad and possibly turn it around or the regression continues and they eventually get the sack/leave.

I think we need an overhaul regardless, so whether he's the man to lead the charge is very much based on how he approaches the rest of this season as he tries to keep us competitive and positive.
