He sets his teams up well. Tactically very astute. Excellent man manager and seems a thoroughly respectful and decent individual.

He has over performed in the Premier League. His career is on an upward trajectory and he will have more than a point to prove if he came to us. If Rodgers left, which I don't want but expect will.happen sooner rather than later, I for one would welcome Potter's appointment.

Potter's style of play is very similar to Rodgers' though currently.

Rodgers is also famed to be an excellent man manager.

I just don't think he's as good as several people make out.

I take it your last comment is referring to Rodgers - if so, absolutely

No. Potter.

He would not improve us or how we play, so no point in getting Rodgers out just to bring him in considering this is why a lot of people want Rodgers out...

Ralph Hasenhuttl would get the best out of Vestergaard and Bertrand

Hasenhuttl with a better squad could be a very decent manager. People will forever go on about 2 completely obscure results but in the whole they play some very decent, aggressive attacking football. Just let down by a poor squad on a shoestring budget

I think we all need to calm down a bit. Often the grass isn’t greener…

Yes it’s not great at the moment, but make a change now and it could get worse in my view. We might have to right this season off to some extent - but then string together a few wins and we’re up n the European spots again. Can’t see that happening mind, but are people of the view he should go if we finish say 8-12th?

This is the problem we have, we have world class managers who probably wouldn't come here, and Rodgers is the best of the tier below, so we've essentially gotta gamble on someone similar or worse and hope they improve us.

I'll still say Potter, think he's done well everywhere he's been.

I’ve heard of him, not sure what club success / silverware if any, he’s had in the last few years.

Tends to get his team qualifying for Europe every year, gets to the latter stages of European competitions too. Just an all round good manager who improves things significantly straight the way. Excellent track record with young players.

Top could get 12m compensation for Rodgers if some one whats him.

He could have to pay Rodgers 12m compensation sacking him.

I can think of 24m good reason we will not be sacking the manager any time soon.

He really made Slavia Prague into the best team in the Czech League and would bring in some Czech toughness in our team

What about this season? Poor in Europe and despite their budget difference, second

I thought his team were great against us in Europe last season. Probably has a tiny budget in comparison to managers in the Prem.

He has by far the best budget in Czech Republic mind

Interested to see how Potter has continued getting shouts given Brighton are returning a little bit to the mean. Fair few frustrated Brighton fans about last night

Lazy bandwagon jumping, same as people wanting Lingard or any obvious flavour of the month. Fans have got no panache or passion for doing some fcukin research, makes my blood boil. The next person who wants Potter is on a years ban.

Personally I don’t think he’s a big enough name for Utd. He’ll be here for as long as he wants it’s a building job with us where he has time to do it. Utd are desperate for trophy’s asap would he really be the man to do that? Maybe in 3 season time but not straight away and I really don’t think Utd can wait that long.

They aren't desperate for trophies.

I don't get the love in with Potter.

Can only put it down to Pep bigging him up.

United aren’t exactly lightyears ahead of us are they, despite how shite we are currently

Make no mistake, I don’t think we’re some sort of huge European club 😂 but if Top has aspirations for us to be so, then this is where we need to be

Not on the pitch. But off the pitch they are on a different planet. Their financial position is huge in comparison to us and likely to remain so for many many years if not forever.

I agree with this.  Not saying he’s Pep Jr. but the man is a good coach who had minimal talent to work with.  If anything the way he was able to bring the club back from the brink is impressive.

I reckon it would be Unai Emery.

  • Experience in the Premier League
  • Proven winner of major European Trophies
  • Speaks OK English

Not saying he'd be the person I would go for, but Top will want someone that can compete in Europe and better at the helm of the club next. West Ham have been sensational this season, but with how good our squad is, that should be us. They are over-performing, we are massively under-performing.

This is the essence of it.  Unless someone swoops in unexpectedly with an offer nothing is going to happen, whether you think it should or not.
