One of the top 3 shot stoppers in the world for me. Consistently proved that over a number of seasons. Congrats to him finally receiving some recognition for his performances. Arguably as important to us as Vardy, in terms of loyalty and character in the dressing room. Good luck Kasper.

given all our top players have attracted interest over the years and teams above us replacing keepers the fact he never got any interest should tell you his level, he is a midtable-upper midtable keeper, which is perfectly respectable, but some in our fanbase insist in claiming he's top 5 in the league, his distribution and lack of ability to claim the high ball put pay to that for me

Who your top 5 out of interest?

To be fair how much would we have wanted for him over the years?

PL winner, International number 1.

I think we would have wanted a lot, which probably put any suitors off.

It's not like we are know for letting players go cheap.

Would you say Vardy is mid table as well as we have only had firm interest once from Arsenal.

Only Leicester could put a downer on their own goalkeeper, a club legend by every single metric possible, being nominated by others as one of the best in the actual world at his job.

We'll miss him when he's gone...

Bang on

The fanbase has taken a really negative turn at the moment.

Sad really.

We're all in a cack mood after Saturday but to turn this thread into a moan fest about the things he doesn't do so well is pathetic.

It a strange one, everyone bang on about how we have underachieved in the last two season for finishing 5th twice as we have a brilliant squad.

But in every individual player thread all you read A is crap, B can't do this, C is overrate etc

I genuinely believe he's one of the best keepers around.

Constantly underrated.

Expensive imports get the headlines...Lloris, De Gea, Kepa, Ederson...

Kasper is up there.

The others I've mentioned all cock up, most of them have done it against us.

We give Kasper a hard time because we watch him every week.

Proud of him. His mistakes are magnified because a goalkeepers mistakes often cost goals, a striker making a mistake isn't seen as significant.

For me, he's a legend and should have a statue. As important as Vardy, Tielemans, Ndidi, Mahrez, Kante...

Shite at kicking though

His Kicking is great...he just gets them in the wrong order...

Agree with Everything you said...on & off the pitch he fully deserves legend status...I loved Banks,Shilton, & Wallington...

but he took his career & Service with/to our club to levels, & achievements that I cant see being matched..He s been a shining beacon & Made Leicester

a Proud Link to his name...off the field hes shown character & stood firm as a bloke, when life called upon him....& Not just once..!!

Imagine if FoxesTalk was around when we hand Banks in goal, new posts would include:

He doesn’t even wear gloves FFS

He bottled it and missed the last few games of the season and cost us the league title.

He should have come and claimed that cross and not let Pele get his header in.

All he does is hoof the ball upfield and hope for the best.

The fact he got dropped and replaced by a teenager tells you everything you need to know about Banks.

He got lucky in the World Cup final, he still conceded two and if the linesman didn’t give that goal he wouldn’t have won.

Kasper gets slated for his distribution but a lot of keepers have crap long ball distribution, its just the type of thing you only notice when its your team.

Made an outstanding one on one save yesterday.

Came absolutely flying out.

The Watford striker should have taken it himself, before passing to King as we were ripped apart, but what a save.

We're lucky to have him.

If you want to slag off his distribution, fine, but as a shot stopper, he's exceptional.

Just 5 appearances short of Steve Walsh and 15 short of Mark Wallington and Hugh Adcock now, barring injuries he will pass them over the next 2 or 3 months.

Really hope we get to see him break Graham Cross' appearance record.

We do under rate him. His kicking isn't even that bad. He has to play high risk passes to 5ft something wing backs most of the time.

His keeping skills are excellent and he rarely let's us down. Compare him to every other keeper we had in the decade beforehand!

Would be good if he came for the occasional cross but at least he's consistent with that (seriously).

He's always on his best form in the biggest matches, week to week you occasionally see irregularities, he isn't perfect but it's never been as if he were letting the team down.

On another note, Lewandowski. It still astounds me whenever he comes up, inevitably remember us being linked to him under Pearson, Shakey & Walsh(episode 1). We we're looking to sign this bloke about 12yrs ago; a Polish unknown, and these days he's getting conned out of prestigious poncy French awards because Leo Messi moved to Paris. His level is top tier elite. Surprises me Walsh is still out of work, maybe Everton paid him just enough lol

There's always these things about how ourselves and Blackburn were after Lewandowski. He wasn't an unknown, at the time he was one of the highest rated youngsters in the world and everyone wanted him and we stood no chance of getting him. If anything it was a surprise that he only went to Borussia Dortmund as there were much bigger clubs after him.

Yes a lot do.

They think he should be an excellent shot stopper, claims every cross and ping a pass like Youri.

Without realising if he did, he wouldn't be playing for us.

Be a sad day when he hangs up his gloves for us.

Yeah you're probably right, I think over time it's built up a mystique in my mind. He moved to Dortmund the year after we were linked and had been tearing it up in Poland since 2008 . Also thought he was older than 33!

From memory, Kasper has made 2 MASSIVE cock ups. There are probably others.

Punching in to his own net against was it Doncaster?!

And the last day of the season against Man U, when the game had gone.

I'd take that for the 2 penalties he saved against Sevilla.

Genuinely world class and under appreciated by us.

He and Vardy are our two most iconic players in the last 20 years.

I know it's a few years away but when they are both gone the club won't be the same. A generation of fans will have grown up with one goalkeeper- it will take some adjusting to life after him, for all his faults.

He punched one in the net vs Spurs when we were 2-1 up and cruising that arguably was the catalyst for us to then fall apart and miss out on the top 4 again. Only regret I have with him, he'd have got his CL adventure again if so. But what a player he's been for us.

he's made many more but can't be bothered to think of them. i can think of two now tho, his goal kick straight into ndidi's ass against bounemouth, and him giving away a pen against blackpool late on.
