The biggest question of the day is did @FoxesDeb do red cabbage?!

I did, yes. We did Christmas dinner a bit differently this year, but yes the red cabbage was sourced without any drama this year, and lovely it was too.

How was your meal out?

Tricky Xmas for her - she posted about her son and the anniversary of his passing.

Totally understand that and I hope Deb is ok.

It's kind of our public, yet private joke.

Thinking of you @FoxesDeb ❤️

It was bloody lovely, thanks for asking.

No red cabbage or cauli cheese, but the ease of it all made up for it!

Merry Christmas, Deb. I hope you and your family have had a lovely time x

I know the joke,  I wanted to make sure you were aware, just in case my friend.

Got a Goose for a change.....supposed to feed 8,but for the size of it you'd be lucky to feed 4!Pretty much all bones!

We had goose a few years ago as my late mum always wanted to try it.

Big disappointment.

There was more fat than meat in the roasting tray. And it was no great shakes in terms of flavour.

Haha. lol

Sprouts, Marmite.

There aren't many foodstuffs that cause such division.

FWIW, I like both.

Went out for dinner today. First time we've ever done it.

Absolutely amazing. Food was incredible and service was spot on.

We're already thinking of doing it again next year.

I had a rack of lamb. There was also loads of carrots, parsnips and brussels to add to this.

It ain't cheap, but when you think no stress of ordering and buying everything, plus no washing up, it's well worth it.

That meal, alone, looks to die for..

May I ask, where was this?

I have however,  bought a full leg of Serrano ham. Don't even know why, but look how happy I am!

I have done this in a few ways since I was a older teen.

On Xmas day my grandmother paid for all her kids and grandchildren to go for a Chinese restaurant buffet. We did it 2 times and It was nice to just chat with uncles/aunts, cousins and not stress about cleaning the house etc.

5 years ago we were in Jamaica over my birthday and xmas 21 and then as you know I am currently in Mexico.

As much as I love my big Indian family, it's nice to not have to do all that cleaning, prep, cooking and just lounge on a beach, go down water slides and jump in a pool. The food is good enough. Nothing beats home cooking but every few years it's  a nice treat!
