Let be honest this team is poorly coached and poorly led.

 

It's like groundhog day, fragile batting, with poor discision making to many players want to feeling bat on ball and don't have the mental strength or technically ability to leave the ball well.

 

It you can't put big total on the board your fielding has to be on point, too often we gave to take 15 wickets because of dropped catches.

 

Bat a little better in both inns and and get maybe extra 20-30 runs in each and save another 30-50 in the field and you find another 100 runs.

Stuck it out for 45 minutes, saw three go and went to sleep. Thought it would be done by 3am.

 

Bowling attack looks decent, the batting doesn't help them, the fielding makes it worse.

 

Yes, we're unprepared due to the weather but it's no different to most of the Test cricket we've served up this year. 2021 has been a shocker.

Who else was being rumoured around the time when Silverwood got the job? Kirsten? Gillespie? He's been pretty poor really hasn't he. 

 

Only standout result test wise was the series win in South Africa and that was against one of the poorest South African sides I can remember

I think so, we just look like a poorly ran side, so times the easy thing can maker a difference, good running between the wickets, good fielding can be a difference of 20 extra scored or save 20 in the field.

 

Duncan Fletcher improved players, I don't see that from Silverwood.

It was a bit of an uninspiring appointment, I thought Kirsten was nailed on for it. Perhaps we're being harsh on Silverwood with Covid affecting a lot of squad selections etc

Right - haven’t been able to watch any of this test so far but I’ve got the beers in and I’m well up for a night of watching some tip-top ding-dong first test action. Best get up to speed with the state of play. Let’s see, what’s been happening so far…

It's going to be very hot and I would imagine the track will be quite dry quite quickly.

Unless the starting side has already been announced I'm expecting him to be carrying the drinks. 

 

Put all our eggs in the fast bowling basket and hope for the best. No doubt it will be a massive turner

Fortunately for the Aussies Starc and Lyon were on the premises too but sitting elsewhere - maybe very wisely!

Hoping Robinson bowls well at first change, can't let Warner and Labuschagne get settled.

We look very one dimensional in terms of bowling attack for this, 

 

 

Others don't agree but I would have taken a spinner and also kept Wood in I think.

In my opinion Silverwood is out of his depth, results have been fairly underwhelming under him. Although I have said before are we being harsh with the amount Covid has affected selections etc

Lots were saying before the series that this was an average Aussie team at best, but I think they're decent.

 

We're obviously doing our best to make them look world class but they've got some quality players IMO.

Particularly when this is a test we really have to win. Baffling tactics. England may as well pack up and come home.
