The most success Spurs have had on the last few decades is a Netflix documentary just highlighting how shit it is to play for Spurs, and how much of a turnip Harry Kane actually is.

They are the only team I genuinely dislike.

Go to the fighting cock forum mate you're famous on there. BTW you've made us look like tits by putting Netflix and not Amazon.

Pre-match Press Conference

Evans?

“He’s not as bad as first feared. The scan has come through as best as we could have hoped for. He’ll struggle for tomorrow and we’ll see where he is for the weekend.”

Covid?

“We’ve still got a number of players out. We’ve got nine players out through Covid and other medical issues. In terms of Covid, we’re still where we were.”

Wanted game called off?

“We’ve looked at that. Unfortunately for us, we weren’t granted any dispensation, which was disappointing. We’ve wanted to support the measures, but when we wanted support for the extreme situation we were in, it’s disappointing not to get the support. We were touch and go for the Newcastle game. We’ve picked up a couple of injuries as well, that are Covid related because we can’t rotate the team. We’ll put out the best team we can.”

You asked Premier League to call off game?

“We asked them to look at it for us, yes.”

Looking at vaccination status of January targets?

“Speak to me in January on it.”

Treating it game by game?

“We’re game by game. We’ve got five games in 13 days, Spurs tomorrow, Everton Sunday, Liverpool Wednesday, Man City, then Liverpool. With the numbers we have out, that’s challenging. We’ll try to get through it.”

Call on young players?

“We may do. We had Kasey make his first Premier League appearance at the weekend. I love giving them opportunities. But you can deter a young player if you put them in too early. They have to be at the right stage. They have to have the right temperament. We’ve got enough players to start the game, and then we’ll have some young players we’ll give an opportunity to.

Threshold where games called off when so many players out?

“For the integrity of the competition, it’s important. There will have been games called off with more players available than what we have but we weren’t given that privilege. It’s a very testing time of the year anyway. To not be given support is a little disappointing.”

Any players back?

“It’s a similar group of players that have been out that will continue to be out. Soyuncu has an injury so he will be unavailable for the game as well. Again a player having to play more than we want. He won’t be available. Amartey will be back, but we can’t consider him to start the game. It will be the same squad minus Jonny and Cags.”

Tielemans?

“Youri gives you experience in the team, his courage to take the ball, his knowledge of the game, I can rely on him 150%. He creates goals and score goals and has added a defensive side to his game which makes him a real complete midfielder.”

Conte?

“It’s going to take time for Antonio coming in. It takes that little period. You can see the changes despite a very limited period of training time. It’s not like pre-season when you can put in place your methods. It’s pretty much been a back three. He will look to develop it.”

Kane?

“For me he’s a world-class player and he has been for a number of years. He will go into every game believing he can score. He’s a big talent and has been a big catalyst for them over recent years.”

Soyuncu?

“We’ll see how his recovery goes. It could be up to a week or so, 7 to 11 days, it all depends on the individual. It was right towards the end of the game, sprinting back from a corner, and he felt it in his hamstring. We’ll just have to assess it.”

Any back from illness/Covid?

“There’s only Daniel who has returned.”

Justin?

“He’s a little bit of time. He’s a player who is off at the moment. He’s had no luck at the moment. But over this Christmas period, we’ll see if he’s available, but certainly he will be available in the second half of the season.”

No centre-backs?

“It’s seeing the players we have. We have brought in players who are multi-functional as well. We’ll always put out a team that can be competitive and play how we want to play. Whatever team we put out will help us to get a result.”

Fan Covid passes?

“My take on it as that anything that helps the fans and to keep people safe while being able to have stadiums full, that’s a positive. We don’t want to go back to playing in empty stadiums. We see the difference they make. If these measures keep everyone safe, then great.”
