It would be nice to play with the control of a Man City, a Liverpool, or a Chelsea, but surely above all you want to win games and in that case you play to your strengths at any given time. The second half performance showed that as a counter attacking side we are pretty lethal, so may be just maybe that is how we should be playing right now.

If we want to evolve as a side and compete for champions league, I don't think many sides can sustain a counter attacking style and be able to do so, as you're not in control of the game. What I'd rather see is being able to do both and adapt to our opponents and accept that against Man City and Liverpool that we can't go toe to toe with them and likely win.

...I  have said it before, we have counter attacking in our dna!!!

We were very much the most consistent team when we won the league, people said we were found out but we needed to upgrade the quality of our team and tweak the way we played.

It's not the way to play the game.

If you don't like how Man City play, you simply don't like football

It's not sustainable

Take it you didn't see the 2 counter attacking goals against Man City.

And the 2 Vardy scored in the cup, both counter attacking goals.

In the circumstances we currently find ourselves I agree. We need to fully focus on keeping the opposition out, with

our excellent forward play we’ve always got a goal or two in us.

We don't want to.

...we do not set out to play on the counter, we look to build from the back, play between the lines and get our width from the Fullbacks or Wingbacks!!!

The way Vardy plays on the shoulder of the defender it is set up to counter. If a team chooses to play a highline against us then they are asking for trouble.

in order to counter attack you need to be able to defend ...

This is the fundamental reason why not. The 2015 team played a very tight and narrow back 8, and were particularly good at defending corners. We used to concede loads, but defend them like a brick wall. Now everyone looks like a goal conceded!

We don't have a manager who's preferred style of play is counter attacking football, other than against certain opponents like Man City.

...yes we do.....!!!

You have to set goals, if you fail to achieve them then you look to see where you can gain that little bit more of margin, for the next season, to get you there.

Why it was so painful to pick up back to back 5th places was that it seemed more easier to achieve 3rd place than to fail to achieve 4th.

But do we?

Seriously.

I mean all we're blaming our current predicament on is we've got too many games - it's causing us injury's, our player are tired, e.t.c, we treat Europa League with contempt and it's just a waste of our time given how we approach the competition/games.

Oh sarcasm, ok.

Or is it what we keep being told? Along with 'needing a reality check'? Or 'being entitled'?

Which is it?

As i've already said the way we treat the extra games, the excuses it gives us, why are even aspiring to play European football when 1 we treat it the way we do and 2 it has a knock on effect with our bread and butter? Especially when apparently it's the excuse of playing the godawful way we do.

Of course I wanna travel Europe following my team, but if these are the knock on effects, i'd rather I just have a holiday rather than follow my team in Europe and cut the bullshit.

What a binary outlook.

We want European football, sure, we just need a prevailing wind to do so is all. We have had that in recent years, and it’s great, hope it happens again.

....surprisingly if he understood that, we would not have started the game, set up the way we did!!!
