Surely that can't be right? We paid £17m for him and we had to give 15% of the profit (£63m) to Hull City which would be around £9.5m. Still a great bonus for them and possibly even got a further 15% of the extra £5m we got from them for beating us to the top 4 spot too.

again, using transfermarkt's (dollar) numbers ...

 

 

Hull's profit on the sale to us was $11.5M, and 15% of our £80M profit would be £12M.

 

Other sources reported we paid Hull more than the fee shown.  But even if they only made roughly the same from the initial sale and the sell-on, it's still an amazing fact,

Fair play to him. Would love to have seen him here, but TBH he's a brilliant player and deserves to play for a club like Inter. He belongs at the top level and was fantastic for Atalanta, never complaining about things and getting on with it. Quality player.
