Youri having 2 weeks off is no good for him he needs to be playing all the time

Playing all the time hasn't helped him the rest of the season tbf.

He has called him one of the best midfielders in Europe this season lol so he’s just mugging himself off really if he’s thinking Tielemans

I love Tielemens, I really do. He’s always come across as an ultimate professional but he has dropped off considerably this season. Then again so has nearly everyone else…

I absolutely agree. I can't help but think of him as a 'beast of burden' that is whipped when the load is too much.

But he hasn’t this season. He’s been injured too. We have had breaks due to Covid etc…

not played the minutes he played last season I don’t think.

but agree not been the same player

Only question at this point is what kind of fee we can get for him. Going to be difficult entering any negotiations when the other club can obviously see he's desperate to leave. Same for Cags.

be lucky to get our money back on either...

Big issue this IMO. It has also hindered the development of KDH. Thankfully we're seeing their playing time managed better now.

True, but not to his extent!...

The way he is acting is totally unprofessional and I'd bench him from now to the end of the season when he can piss off!!!

i agree with you but the problem with that is we’d get even less for him if we try and flog him after him hardly playing for half a season!

He isn’t going anywhere if he continues to play like this. Bossing the game sometimes just is not enough for the ‘elite level’ clubs, you have to show your A game in pretty much every match if you want a move to Real Madrid, Liverpool etc. There is so much competition out there too.

I just worry about his consistent levels tbh. On his day, he is the best player on the pitch but sometimes he is anonymous. I mean in 19/20 he was very inconsistent, in 20/21 admittedly he was immense but his performances have been very below par this season. I genuinely think that he needs to capture some of his form from last season in order to convince the ‘big clubs to put big money on the table for him.

Not sure what to think of Youri. Love the guy for the iconic cup winning goal, and he's been brilliant for the past 2 seasons. His form this season has been poor and reminds me the first season when he first permanently signed for us. He seems like a level headed guy and professional, wise compared to some of the others - wonder if he now is coming to terms with fact that he'll be at another club in August and just keep head down and play down the clock. Not sure what to think of Youri. Play him in the odd few games here and there, really we need 5 wins out of 18 to stay in the division, pick the hungry players for the Europa conference.

Never made much difference with Drinkwater, Mahrez, Maguire and Chilwell. All were desperate to leave and some had been half arsed for us for the months.

The only difference is length of contract remaining, but there's many examples of players with only a year to go still fetching quite hefty fees and Tielemans will be no different. He's now attainable, where as in previous seasons he wasn't unless a fee north of £80-90m was offered. He'll go for about half.

I really hope that’s not our target for this season

As much as I'd like to say drop him if he carries on with half arsed performances, if we did drop him for the rest of the season, his value would plummet even further. As it stands, we might get £40-50m for him. If we drop him it would be more like £30m which is less than we paid for him. Soyuncu however probably won't be able to get us a decent fee as he really is a bit shit. He's had one really good season and he's been average to poor the rest of his time here. Id be amazed if anyone paid more than £20m for him, especially with his contract also running down.

We haven't shown any indications that we will go on a run or the that the defensive issues will be resolved short of Fofana and Ricardo hitting the ground running, we will win a game, lose a couple, draw a game, win a game and lose a few, an stutter over the line, short of a little extra prize money the difference between 8th and 14th is neither here nor there, its all about the Conference now.

I totally get what you are saying, I’m just hoping we AIM a little higher even if that’s our baseline of achievement

Absolute joke giving him the armband when he's clearly not really buying in anymore.

I've long accepted he was gone. Part of the rebuild hinges on it. Juventus would be good - a genuinely massive club and not one we have to actually face.
