Soyuncu was that bad on Wrdnesday he doesn't really deserve to play either but there's no other choice at the minute, suppose we could drop Hamza in there. Brighton are one of the few teams a traditional DCM isn't necessarily needed either.

Still not sure whether we should play a diamond or 4-2-3-1 and Barnes and Lookman both start. Conundrums.

In a 442 diamond formation:

Schmeichel

JJ

Amartey

Soyuncu

Thomas

Soumaré

Tielemans

KDH

Maddison

Lookman

Daka

This is what I'm leaving towards and sadly Barnes still coming off the bench. Lookman was the good, the bad and the ugly on Wednesday in his play and Barnes made a great impact so there's not much in it, that's why the temptation to have them both in is a dilemma. Lookman is stronger in his pressing and keeping the ball in tight situations but Barnes is also much more adept at opening teams up.

I think Justin will still be a sub for now and Albrighton has been spot on of late so that's no huge issue to carry on until Justin is properly fit. Think I'd go Hamza over Soumare at the minute as well.

Game will probably depend on how Thomas can defend against pace of Lamptey. Probably not going to get much help from in front of him, and Soyuncu is probably the only centre who has enough pace to cover Thomas but its got a Soyunc rash tackle and penalty all over it.

Kasper

JJ - if up to it physically

Amartey

Soyunchu

Thomas

Choudhury

Tielemans

KDH

Maddison

Daka

Barnes/Lookman

1-1, 2-2 or a 2-1 loss.

We actually have options ……weird………

wouldn't shock me to see rodgers go with a back three again and put JJ alongside cags and amartey if he does that. He may feel that Marc is exposed as a full on RB against trossard and wants cover close by from the right of the three.

and if hamza isn’t required in the three then surely Brendan will play him at CDM - we have to try to keep the opposition to one goal at most …

Really hope we don't make the mistake of playing a back 3 again, especially against another team experienced at using it effectively, unlike us.

Potter has covid

Chance that they have a few cases appear tomorrow on their daily testing

how far above 13  were they midweek ??

i’ve just looked and I don’t think they’re far away from being able to request a postponement - maybe three covid cases would be enough

13 outfield players I believe

Against Chelsea they had their 10 starters + Maupay, Trossard, March off the bench

On the bench they had 4 other outfield players but they would not be classed as "suitably expierenced"

Dunk could be back

A couple of cases and it could be off if Brighton want to

Why is this game on a Sunday anyway when we barely have had any Saturdays due to Europe. And don’t say because of Tigers no one likes rugby

Finally a ref I don’t have an irrational hatred for. Unless someone can remind me of a time when he ****ed us over.

Hasn't been the ref in any of ours games yet this season

Last season he did Brighton 3-0 win and Wolves 0-0

Gave a very dodgy penalty to Man Utd in the 1-0 defeat at the start of 19/20 season.

Was also ref for 2 of our 3 defeats in the title winning season. Arsenal away and Liverpool away.

He was totally responsible for the defeat at Arsenal, we were comfortably cruising to a win until he sent Simmo off for wearing a blue shirt !

Thanks anything older than a season a go I am over so that’s ok. Apart from Jon Moss West Ham at home.
