It maybe a coincidence but Tielemans hasn't really played that well with KDH in the team. He scored twice vs Newcastle but I thought be was the less impressive out of him, KDH and Maddison.

Maybe he's just out of form since his injury or he's having to readjust his game in this set up as KDH is very influential. That doesn't excuse his honking passing though last night. Hope he regains his form soon, I don't agree he's been poor this season overall though. Up to his injury he'd been our best midfielder and creative player by a country mile. Scored some excellent goals.

This one's for all the marbles!

I think it's that cup game last season that sticks in the memory for me, we were appalling and should have been dead and buried. Then last minute Youri dinks a corner to an unmarked Kel who was our only man in the box being ignored by 8 or 9 Brighton players lol

I think he meant the league cup game this season but either works I guess.

We’ve got to play Justin. He looked absolutely fine tonight.

That's a sexy team Bert.

Tielemans needs a physical player next to him. Against Newcastle he had soumare next to him. Genuinely not adverse to dropping youri for Sunday such is my level of anger at his extreme stupidity.

Can we not just go back to the same system/formation that beat Newcastle 4-0 and what we went to 2nd half vs liverpool and won ? Or am I being too simplistic ?!

Solid three in the middle, Maddison free role coming in from the right and either Lookman or Barnes giving us width on the left. I have seen teams above that have Tielemans, KDH and Maddison as the 3. I think last night showed us that we need a defensive midfielder in there, Spurs had 27 goal attempts ! Too easy to get through

I've noticed this as well, Youri is at his best when sitting deep and dictating play. Feels like he's being asked to play a similar role to KDH which basically emphasises all his weak points and is clearly effecting his stronger points as well. He needs to be the guy collecting the ball off the defenders and orchestrating play up the field from the back.

Any side with Soyuncu in it is a loser. Amartey and Hamza for me - HC our best defender by a country mile last night …Soyuncu needs a long time out to get back to learning the basics

Can we just forget about the defence....playing 3 centre backs is not the way forward....not when 2 of them are horrendous and the other is a CDM. Stick 4 attacking players on and look to score more than the opposition. We all know that we are gonna concede at least 2 or 3 so need to stick 3 or 4 in at the other end...not much chance of that with just 2 attackers!!

We need to give Vestegaard another chance.

He has pace in abundance and that could cause the Seagulls problems.

My psychiatric nurse agrees with me.

Wibble.

This is a must win now. We need to get  revenge for their dodgy win earlier in the season where the officials seemed hell bent on giving them the win.

We also need to get this Spurs defeat out of our system.

I'm still not over last night, my mind still thinks we won that game.

....when used in the diamond, he was less effective and struggled to get a foothold in the game!!!

He hasn't the stamina or pace to cover the areas required to move wide to cover and then having to get back into position. Soumare would be more suited to that role and Maddison would be at the head of the diamond.

The curious thing is that Rodgers believes that Youri needs to be constantly playing in order to stay on his game, but for me there are some games he needs to be on the bench. Playing him every game is a comfort blanket for him, in respect of his position in the team.

Let us go to a midfield where we are not going to be overran, we have enough quality in that area for us to deploy this system.

I believe this is more important to Rodgers career than Youri's.

Can't see anything other than a score draw.

Think you won't be far off. We'll be outplayed but will score due to the talent on the pitch. Much like dsyfunctional United

Agreed, I don't worry about us scoring but it's the other end keeping them out. I can see Brighton scoring.

Hope he’s just a bit out of form Rather than what someone at the ground said last night that Youri had his head turned by a big move away to another club on the Summer ?
