To hear him constantly come out in the press to protect his own reputation and talk down on both the club and the aspirations of the owners has really got to me this season. The club has just spent £100 million on a state of the art training ground and is looking to improve the stadium facilities, increase capacity and drastically regenerate the area around the stadium site, is that the sign of an operating football club that is prepared to accept that the club has already peaked or reached “their pinnacle”?

Agree with many of your points but some important edits to reflect the fact that Top hasn’t paid for that training ground out of his own pocket as some form of altruism and that it’s investment by a club that earns over £100m per year in tv money, has earned revenue from Europe 3 times in recent years and has sold numerous players for £50m+ in recent seasons.

But agree that the owner will have ambitions for the club that Rodgers might be talking down.

You don’t win games by defending a lead for nearly half the game, with a makeshift defence. We just seem to throw points away, time and time again.

I’m struggling to see how we can progress without a change.

Sacking him now will have no bearing on the course of this season to be honest. A decision can wait till the summer in my opinion. The cups may still save him

He's not going to be sacked unless we really start nosediving and/or he loses 4/5 on the spin and embarrassing cup exits. That said, I do fear if we opt to wait until the summer we'll pause and let him carry on and then get rid very quickly in to next season where plenty of money and momentum will have been wasted.

I think I saw @Cardiff_Fox or @Chocolate Teapot say that unless we're in relegation zone, then we won't sack him.

I reckon if we've not finished top 7 or qualified for Europe in any way at the end of the season, then he goes. Then the next manager, whoever it is, comes in with a full summer to use.

I think that's about right. I think that'd work for all parties, I'm guessing bases on Congerton probably going but there's a sense of the changing of the guard.

Yeah but if he wasn’t an owner who wanted to continue the upward trajectory he could have paid himself and others massive dividends and took the money out of the club. The owners have pumped lots of money into the club and would do so again if necessary.

Congerton’s role is a step up, wouldn’t read into it that way

Especially if we do get a few decent performances at the backend of this season. Reminds me of Puel 17/18 when we got pasted by Palace and West Ham to finish with two great attacking displays against Arsenal and Spurs going into the summer. Bought him time but ultimately came to nothing

With some fit, mentally and physically rested - and without a waiting list for the treatment table?

From England I like Potter and Frank. I enjoy Frank's rants - his sides are tough and he's a mad bastard. Potter is not exactly grit but his assistant is a tough guy - it's all nice classy guys with Rodgers.

Amorin I've mentioned before and believe he's out of contract in the summer.

Julienne Stephen would be another to look at.

Would love Amorin here, and maybe our club is right for him as he won't have the pressure of a bigger clubs like ManU. If Villa can get up and coming Gerrard why can't we go and try to get him.

Another candidate would be Diego Martinez who Leeds want this summer when Biesla's contract finishes.

Diego's side Granada were outstanding, his signing and loans which were got for hardly anything.

His nonsense pressing football and counterattacking football were compared to the Leicester season by football writers.

He's studied in England so his English is pretty good and knows alot about English football as he used to go and watch games.

Plus as a former full back he can sort out our defense.

Good shout I'll look him up. We've been linked before haven't we?

Believe he's out of contract with us and it's not likely to be renewed regardless.

I imagine even if he was in contract he would’ve taken the job anyway

Hes Rodgers' man, he wanted him as he's wanted all his staff, I do think there's something in him going and the discontent about the summer business.

It would keep our run going; win a trophy we haven’t ever won then sack the manager the next season. Interesting!

In. I've seen enough to think we are capable of going on a good run, we're scoring goals and the attacking play has generally been good for six/seven weeks.

But I'm not pleased about the comments in the press and the set-up after 60 minutes today. The lack of finance may hinder us to an extent but our own style is doing a similar job at present. The media drama any time dissent or displeasure is shown is pathetic too.

It does seem Project Brendan but I don't see the need to change right now.

General Manager at Atalanta is the kind of role you would expect him to accept despite that - was the same with Macia (who I think we should try to get back)

Could be Atalanta have been approaching him for a while and he half-arsed the summer business with his mind elsewhere, but I still don’t think there is that much to read into with it

In. Sacking a manager midseason is always an overreaction unless you're heading towards the drop. But let's see how the season pans out. Also he'll be on much thinner ice next season, too.

fans that want Rodgers should put their name down for a ticket somewhere else because it won’t be happening. The people in charge see Rodgers as part of their whole vision, hes been key in it and they accept there will be ups and downs, they won’t sack him for an off season unless it gets very bad.

you might not believe i know anything i dont really care but you will be disappointed if thats what you hope

In an ideal world if we're planning on getting rid in the summer if he doesn't  achieve a certain placing, then you'd want the next manager in before the summer so he has x amount of competitive games to look at the players before they come back for pre season. Obviously this is dependant on how early we mathmetically can't reach such a position and how likely the next choice (if employed) would be to join us there and then rather than wait until the summer.
