Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester City are monitoring 29-year-old England international Jesse Lingard's situation, with the Manchester United attacking midfielder's move to Newcastle United set to collapse. (Manchester Evening News)

Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester City are lazily linked to X by another pointless speculating journalist trying to justify their existence

How does agent talk force a move?

I know lol

He is out of contract at the EOS, I don’t really see what affect it has on Man U either way now.

Lingard isnt coming. I don't think we will bring anyone in. There will be a reset in the summer. Dust ourselves off after a season to forget.

Don't Utd want a massive loan fee.

I'm sure I read that they wanted £12m from Newcastle if he went there and they survived relegation

If it looks as likely as reports that Youri is on his way out of City I’d take Lingard he’s a quality midfielder who can change games score goals and fill the void if Youri does go ?

Probably a fee at the end of it too for us to keep him. I bet his wages are high too.

If not, I'd be all for it.

...take him on a free in the summer window!!!

We can offer a better salary with no transfer fee to pay. The only problem is we are picking him up on the otherside of his prime but his skillset and experience will be invaluable.

The big thing we suffer from is game management (leadership) and any know how he brings to the table would help us greatly.

I think he goes to Newcastle if he leaves in January, unless Lingard decides he wants to play for a different club but looks like he just wants first team football.

Man U know they can get more money from Newcastle, and Newcastle's offer will already be higher than any other club is willing to pay.

If we want him, our best chance is in the summer.

He seems like he doesn't know where he's coming or going.

Afew weeks back he was teasing West Ham on his Instagram posts, now they have lost interest in him, so he decides to opt to go to Newcastle where he'll get his 200k a week.

He deserves to have his career recked for all his p***ing around, if he had been at Man U when Roy Keene and afew others were around he would have been sorted out in the dressing room for all his childish antics

...this is going to be perhaps his last deal!!!

He will not be going to a team that will be challenging for titles and getting the best contract that he could, would be uppermost in his mind, and perhaps a club looking to rebuild and willing to pay what he is looking for serves his purpose.

Go out and enjoy your football, play for a team that wants you and you feel that you can help to push them forward. Why you have to look for finance first and happiness second when you have been so well paid for years, I just do not know.

Lingard on loan would be a great signing for us. give us a chance to sign him permanently for free in the summer. Man U won’t want him to got to West Ham as they are a rival for top 4.

The thing that may make Lingard choose us is that we have a good recent history of our players getting in the England team which will be his priority for this year.

What he did at West Ham last season was pretty hard to ignore, he has a strength of character that I do respect. Many of our fans think we need to carefully add some experience to the squad as some of our other experienced players decline or depart and Lingard at 29 would be ideal.

After being sidelined by Utd. , not because of his ability but probably his temperament , he will be looking for a deal that makes him a main man. He would want to be a fixture on the team list. If we did that , Maddison would be the one to suffer. He has, as far as I know , never done Youri's  job.
