Anyone else actually quite worried they'll witness something horrific on the BigJet TV channel on YouTube?! As crazy as it is to see the storm at an airport and how ridiculously talented the pilots are to land in such conditions, it does worry me we might see something tragic...

Not at all. The pilots and systems are that good that they’ll go around if they’re not confident at a point called ‘minimums’. They divert after 3 attempts so as dramatic as it looks, it’s all fairly safe.

No, will be alright.

I saw a couple abort landing but safely land half hour later or so.

There was an aborted landing at Heathrow a couple weeks ago that looked worse than I've seen so far today. That said, it's crazy seeing how planes are rocking in this wind.

Trees down blocking the road near me.  Some of my garden fences have gone - blown flat with the concrete bases and posts ripped out of the ground.  Still a little breezy.

Yeah I haven’t seen much where I am apart from a neighbours plant pot has fallen over

There’s a pagoda out the front of our house that I hate but aren’t allowed to remove because it’s on communal property and is technically owned by the HA.

 

Wish I’d had the foresight to get the saw out and make some strategic cuts to it ahead of today.
