Highlights from PSV's game today. Fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3.

Gapko looks like some player!

Cracking game...could have gone either way. So many chances hitting the post for both sides.

Twente should have been 5-0 up after 30 mins.

Really looking forward to this.

Hopefully the KP will be rocking on Thursday.

Come on Leicester!

Another big big dilemma is Daniel Amartey. Made a few clangers recently, does he start on Thursday or if Evans or Fofana can play then do they partner Soyuncu who's nailed on to play and rightly so, Cags has been much improved in recent weeks.

Also what on earth is going on with Ricardo?

I think Amartey and Soyuncu start the European games, Evans and Fofana the league for a bit. Ricardo probably the full back for Europe too. Rodgers often selects JJ and Castagne against teams with good / fast wingers as their physical presence helps our defence.

Evans and Fofana looks like our first choice pairing next season but we should be managing their work load. Ndidi’s already done for this season; if we want to win this competition we can’t afford many more in that predicament!

Any ideas how many PSV are bringing? They are pretty ultra so I imagine it could get abit tasty.

1,625,  strangely the same as they gave us in Eindhoven. We only have to give 5% of ground capacity to away teams in Europe.

Dutch scene is what I'd love the English scene to be like. Great mix of casual and ultra support. They'll be alright but not the level of Legia or Copenhagen for example.

Evans will not play 4 games in a row.  We need a settked back 4

Many younger Dutch speak English better than some of us. As for their education system in general........

I think the Leicester Banter Boys should be more nervous than the Bovver Boys

You got the Dutch accent right.

Agree about Evans, see him as a sub for when we close up shop at 1 nil up

Agreed. Expecting a back four of Ricardo Amartey Soyuncu JJ (or Castagne).

The real challenge is midfield, without Ndidi and Mendy. I’m sure Rodgers doesn’t trust Choudhury positionally (rightly) so can see a KDH/Soumare double pivot.

Was there any update on why Soumare wasn't in the squad yesterday? Can't see him being thrown back in at the deep end if Rodgers didn't even trust him enough to put him on the bench yesterday

I wrote about a revamping of midfield roles before Man U and was thinking Brendan might suprise us by using KDH as a CDM.

Didnt happen and Mendy made the position his in the league.

I dont even have Hamza or Soumare in my arm chair equation as starters. We shall see soon enough.

We have a usable squad again. Hopefuly Ricardo will be playing.

Shame that now we wont get a chance to see the development players you critique so well though-

I’d be going:

Kasper

Ricardo Amartey Soyuncu Castagne

Tielemans KDH

Lookman Maddison Barnes

Iheanacho

I get that Brendo has sort of settled on this 433/ 4141 system with Madders on the right but against United and also in the previous games, I couldn't help but feel that we could've used Lookman on the right as an outlet. The same way I felt Maddison was missing in those central areas at times, especially against United where we saw Barnes take on a bunch of long range efforts that didn't end up troubling anyone and I thought had Madders been the one to take those shots they would've been a whole lot more dangerous.

With Ndidi out and Mendy not registered I can't imagine we're going to play anything else but the classic 4231 with Madders at the 10, though Sharky will probably start over Lookman to slightly compensate the lack of a proper DM if we go with KDH and Youri in midfield.

Speaking of Lookman, anything new on that rumoured clause with the appearances? He hasn't played a whole lot recently

I'd have liked to have seen Ricardo on in the 2nd half for Castagne and Justin switch to left back, Telles and Dalot looked absolute toss yesterday and yet we didn't have Castagne supporting Barnes at all, was very odd. Can see them having a game plan to be cautious on one flank but when it became quite clear that Man Utd were an abomination and pedestrian, we should have committed our full backs to push very high as often as possible.

Yeah, it's difficult to give any other academy players chances with more and more players returning. I do think he's missed a good experience giving opportunity though when only naming 8 or 9 subs for these ECL knockout games when we can name 12, OK still doesn't mean that the 3+ academy players additionally named would have got on but for example vs Randers there were possible opportunities given we were several goals to the good so you never know.
