Schmidt our trainer doesn't prioritize one competition over another. Hè wants to play the best they can in all of Them. I dont think conditioning of sourness wil be a problem for us PSV Plays 3 matches a week almost Every season zo they are expierenced in that. Never the less I think you guys Will Go trough you have more quality i think. 3

We dont lol, since Schmidt is our trainer we always have injured players. Some players play to much others dont get enough minuts. And when they get a chance they arent fit enough to handle the intensity. Cause PSV Plays high pressure so it requires a lof of the players. 3

That's certainly true, the competitions were structured very differently in the 70s and 80s which meant that when Forest played 6 games in the European Cup they progressed through 3 stages of the competition, where when we played 6 games in the Champions League we only progressed through 1. But would they have fared as well as they did if they'd competed in a Champions League format. We will never know and they could only do their best in the competition as it then was and they did very well. I remember them doing it. But it's worth bearing in mind that they won and the retained the European Cup without ever playing against Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletico Madrid Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, Ajax, Benfica. That would not be possible today. The only team of note they played was Liverpool in the 1st round of the 78/79 tournament. I've heard people say it was a miracle that Forest won the 1979 European Cup Final, but it would have been an even bigger miracle if they'd lost because then the winners would have been Malmo of Sweden. 3 4

Clever Fox Posted 20 March 2022 Posted 20 March 2022 Don't we play Utd before the PSV fixture. We need to put out a shadow team against Utd. I'd rest the key players for the PSV fixture. Especially if they are a high tempo team as suggested. Look what Thursday night took out of the lads. Many were out on their feet.
Shane Posted 20 March 2022 Posted 20 March 2022 (edited) With Ndidi likely to be unavailable, I really hope we don’t play without a DM and go with a Tielemans, KDH, Maddison midfield 3. Could play the diamond, just need someone at DM. They are very dangerous in attack and a destroyer in midfield to track runners will be essential. Choudhury at DM probably makes the most sense. Obviously a massive drop in quality from Wilf, but Hamza’s energy and aggression could really help protect our defence. Edited 20 March 2022 by Shane 1
