Played in a few of them yes, likewise in the league where we struggled. He's certainly improved as a player since but as a no frills defender and not a runner with the ball or passer, we see his limitations at full back and if he was still only played at right back he'd be vilified as he's nowhere near good enough for the type of football we play. Anyway it's essentially no different to play 3 at the back and 1 of them stepping out but I don't think he'd be the one to do it, it would be Fofana. 2

coolhandfox Posted 30 March 2022 Posted 30 March 2022 Ruud van Nistelrooy: PSV Eindhoven appoint former Manchester United striker as boss from the 2022-23 season Wonder how this sort of stuff is going to effect PSV between now and the end of the season, can't be helpful 1
Popular Post CosbehFox Posted 30 March 2022 Popular Post Posted 30 March 2022 Bad news lads - just been told by someone close to the club that UEFA are kicking us out of the competition. Apparently the dressing room at Rennes was left in such a condition, that we've been disqualified and Rennes will be turning up at Philips Stadium in two weeks time with full Cillit Bang cleaning gear. 8

The good thing is, for all the well regarded he is as a manager, he's actually won very little. Hopefully that continues this season when it comes to the Conference League. 1

A 4-1-3-2 for the 1st leg? .. that would never work!!! He is even worse in the middle than he is at Right Back. We should know his limitations by now, no point undermining the positive reviews he has received, now that we have finally got him in a position that he can now, effectively contribute. 2

His longest major job was with Leverkusen though, who have won about 2 major titles in their history and it's hardly the easiest country to accumulate trophies in if you aren't Bayern.

Yeah there's mitigating circumstances but some managers get the reputation of being a certain standard without many trophies to their name and sometimes its a little out of kilter. Schmidt is good though but I think there's a potential nervousness and naivety to their play that can be exploited when they over commit.

They'll be alright because we commit a maximum of 4 players forward at any one time! 1
KFS Posted 31 March 2022 Posted 31 March 2022 How’d you beat these then? Know nothing about them apart from wanting us to buy Madueke

Seriously though I have no idea, my only knowledge of PSV is I used to almost exclusively be them on Fifa 96 on PC. Not sure that will help much.

We are a weird team though that because we don't commit huge swathes forward we catch teams out as a result. So much so that you're then left scratching your head why we don't try and set traps to commit more more often but that's Leicester. 1
Claridge Posted 31 March 2022 Posted 31 March 2022 Will some players be fasting? Not sure when Ramadan starts. Big ask to play at 8pm if your last food/drink intake was 6am

So much so that you're then left scratching your head why we don't try and set traps to commit more more often but that's Leicester. So much of it is because we’re just really badly positioned most of the time. KDH should play more centrally as him and Barnes occupy the same space too often. Whichever striker plays is usually isolated so Rodgers should be getting on at KDH to go beyond the striker more as he’s our only CM with both the legs and ability to do it. With KDH higher and more centrally positioned, it gives Tielemans more space in deeper lateral positions to do what he does best. Even over the games we’ve won recently, by nearly every metric we‘ve not been great. Long term we need to look better in possession, the players are certainly good enough so it’s the coaching. We keep hearing that all of our strikers aren’t suited to playing upfront on their own - which suggests it’s a systematic issue to me. 75% of the league play one up top so if they can make it work? 🤔 Edited 31 March 2022 by Stadt 1

Hamza Cags, and Mendy are also Muslims, but I don't know how observant. I would guess Soumare is, since his family is Senegalese. But I am sure most clubs have regimes in place to help, and thankfully, the clubs seem to be allowing players to break their fast if sunset happens during the game.
