The breakdown is: Champions League 10 matches (2016/17) UEFA Cup 4 matches (1997/98 and 2000/01) European Cup Winners Cup 4 matches (1961/62) Europa League 14 matches (2020/21 and 2021/22) Europa Conference 6 matches (2021/22) For purposes of comparison Forest have played 44 matches in all competitions in Europe, so we're 6 games behind them. Wow. I hadn't realised we had played that many European games When O'Neill took us to Europe it was magnificently new in my life time. Message to entitled fans: we are doing ok 2

Popular Post Criggers Posted 18 March 2022 Popular Post Posted 18 March 2022 I was not on board with this competition at all. Seemed very unnecessary. But then you know what, it gives the fans a bloody good chance for some good memories. So why not enjoy it. Any chance to play these teams in a somewhat meaningful competitive game shouldn’t be sniffed at. And there is a reward for it in both trophy and increased level of competition. And arguably, by going “through the ranks” of Europe, it could give you a better chance of dealing with the next steps up the ladder. Although our champions league debut was freakishly good and I’d love that every year without having to drop down. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. 5

Adrian Posted 19 March 2022 Posted 19 March 2022 There's plenty of decent teams in this 3rd ranked competition it seems..probably harder to win than Europa and champions league 😉 I'll be amazed we get past Holland's number 2 team

Hate to be that guy, but they've got 2 big trophies to show for their 44 matches. 2
Koke Posted 19 March 2022 Posted 19 March 2022 We got largely outplayed by Rennes and I'm guessing it'll be similar story against PSV away. So we must win the home game by at least 2 goals to stand a chance to progress. 1

I always thought experiencing the great atmospheres around Europe would rub off on the clubs back home but it never does. I think English fans treat it as a bit of a novelty.

FoxesFourLife Posted 19 March 2022 Posted 19 March 2022 If we get a draw at home or better take an advantage away we will progress, the second leg for them is 3 days before they play Ajax in the cup final what will be the priority in there minds getting one over there fierce rivals or us also they are only 2 points behind Ajax for the title as well. 3

Rennes outplayed us for 20 minutes in the 1st half at home and then we were quite clearly the stronger team and even in the away game from about 10 mins to 75 mins we were comfortable. The thing with Rennes is the way they overload on the attack it makes them look like a juggernaut of an attacking team which they clearly are at times but they also have very little game management and we exposed that. Their 2 best goalscorers were utter dog shit too. 4 1
