Not much in it first half until we scored and then I thought for the first 20 mins in the second half we were superb. Their penalty gave them a bit of momentum but I thought we comfortably saw out the game.

 

MOTM: Dewsbury-Hall

Good: Lookman, Mendy, Maddison, Justin, Soyuncu, Amartey, Schmeichel 

Average: Thomas, Daka

Poor: Tielemans

we just seem to transition so much quicker up the pitch. 

When we play 433 and KDH plays like today, we are a far better side with Mendy in it. We can even have Maddison as the RW in a 433 and he still plays really well. 
 

The issue is that it’s unfair to expect KDH to deliver in every game. To his credit he’s been good or very good in almost every game he’s played for us. Legia away was the only real stinker I recall. His pressing is so good the entire team plays 10 yards further forwards. 
 

Ndidi’s out for the season but missing Mendy is really annoying. I think we’d have beaten PSV at home with him in the team because Maddison would be further up the pitch.

I thought everything was looking fairly comfortable until the penalty, and then Palace managed to get a toe back into the game. 
 

Good result and performance in the end. Palace we’re a bit odd, not sure what to make of them.

Yea it was more of a pen than theirs was, Maddison was shoved from behind and their playing went over a dangling leg. Both were soft but they got theirs and we didn’t! We won but it’s yet another couple of incidents which haven’t gone our way.

 

Officials are so bad in this game.

Feels we're having more go against us than for lately.  Admittedly we had that penalty we should've conceded against PSV, but minus that can't think of many 50/50 big calls going for us

The only player i can remember who when he played for us alternated between Left back and centre forward..and i seem to remember Man utd had him on trial for about a month but never took up the option.

Opposition players found him hard to predict probably because he never knew himself what he was going to do. At one time we had about six players who spoke fluent german ,of which he was one. Fuchs,Kasper,Shinji,Huth amongst others. Must have helped us bond as a team when we won the league

Wasn’t even looked at on VAR !!

This Jones guy was a dreadful ref today the only thing he failed to do for Palace was to kneel down and Kiss Zaha’s Arse !!:blush:

Comfortable win. they had a spell after the penalty where they pushed for a bit but Daka’s injury and treatment broke their momentum and took the wind out their sales and they rarely looked like causing us problems after. 
 

At the time I thought the penalty was stonewall, looking at highlights he’s gone looking for it and it’s extremely soft. Var should start calling these dives out. Maddison’s was never a penalty. 
 

KDH is brilliant, work rate, creativity, physicality, he’s been given a chance and has taken it with both hands, fantastic assist and goal. He’s going to be a legend for us. 
 

Zaha is a ****, desperate to get out of palace but not good enough for anyone decent to want him. 
 

And I wear my watch on my left wrist too.

The fact these soft penalties are being given means now any touch in the box has fans screaming for a penalty.

I thought after the first half hour we were comfortable. Kiernan gets better week after week. Lookman took his goal well and defensively we were solid. 

Zaha for all his talent proved today why he is not good enough for the ‘elite’ level. His petulance and attitude stinks. The pathetic celebration of trying to goad Schmeichel and Maddison after missing a penalty twice and getting a rebound says it all about his attitude. If you can’t hack someone trying to put you off scoring a penalty then you need to grow a thicker skin at this level. The fact he blanked Schmeichel’s hand shake at full time says all you need to know about his attitude. Plays with a massive chip on his shoulder, everyone else’s fault when it doesn’t go his way
