"52.04
Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals."

 

So wouldn't be surprised if a few legs get put in there tonight...

Kel, Maddison, KDH, Vester and Albrighton on 1 yellow card. It doesn't matter though: "In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals."

How's this legally allowed? I'm quite sure they don't pay for the full annual package. Pubs are not allowed to choose, pay and screen individual games and they allow a cinema one off screenings?

Doesn't this just mean that all cards expire after the game tonight? Meaning that anyone on a yellow who gets booked during the game will still miss the semis? :dunno:

All yellow cards expire after quarter finals. I reckon it's clear that tonight's yellow card bookings won't carry on semi finals? Unless UEFA officials were on high when they were writing the rules.

I think they implemented the rule so star players wouldn't miss the semis. My understanding is that card carry overs don't happen at all.

This may be a little thing, but I am fuming at Radio Leicester's Owynn Palmer-Atkin. He just put out a joke tweet with a score at the 120th minute for the game tonight. "Ha Ha! Giggle giggle! Aren't I a card!" but that thing will be floating around Twitter feeds in seven hours, and from an actual non-fake account of a BBC journalist.

 

I work as a news editor (don't cover sports) and I would fire anyone who did something like that. In fact, the precautionary tale most reporters heard in secondary school in the U.S. when I was growing up (1980s) was some bored intern being blackballed from journalism for life for giving a fake high school basketball score for his local newspaper.

 

The absolute lack of professionalism astounds me. I will now go and yell at kids to get off my lawn.

Have to agree with you. Very unprofessional but not the first "sports journo" I've seen do something daft. 

 

I'm no longer in the industry but used to work in radio. He needs a bollocking for that.

I get its a joke, but I agree with you. lacks professionalism and I'm rather superstitious so I hate things like this 🤣

He's a young lad and doing a good job but some old head needs to have a word, I agree this could pop up on someone's feed and give them a heart attack. Also, it's annoying and tempting fate.

Thanks so back to hoping Madders and KDH and to a lesser extent Kels and Marc avoid a yellow. If Big Jan could come on to pick up a yellow that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world 😂
