Looked good for first 20 mins then as soon as they scored we looked well off the pace, second best to too many balls and indecision across the pitch, even though 8 changes think we look quite leggy, prob not a surprise but think we need to be quite pragmatic in expectations for next few weeks.

Mendy, Thomas and Daka are woeful

few changes needed asap

Thought Mendy was fine. The other two, hard to disagree. Youri and KDH muscle injury anyone? Both look close to the limit now.

Pretty sure it came off Burn's arm too, the reverse angle seemed to show it, but ah well

I just saw that, it does come off the arm… unbelievable… I say it a lot but if that is Man U they rule that out

No idea what he’s been doing since Liverpool at home, seems like Salah is still in his pocket. Been terrible all first half but it’s just a continuation of all his performances in 2022

I think the recent return of our first choice defenders has exposed the fact that those who have been playing for most of the season, like Thomas, are nowhere near as good.

Youri needs a rest. He’s a fantastic player (contrary to what most of Foxestalk will have you believe) but he’s played so much football.

2nd best, defence is giving me the scary scaries.

Thomas looks afraid... cags or amarty need to be replaced... no leadership... want madders on to lead us... we seem way off pace.

Come on city 💙

We are playing like a bottom half side.

But probably 8 or 9 first choice didn't  start.

It's frustrating but Newcastle look ordinary. We can win this.

Frustrating thing is, the bigger the game, the greater the VAR scrutiny. If it were utd-liverpool they'd spend ages looking at everything going on in the box.

I swear there's a narrative they want that they'll subtley direct when and where possible.

He never gets a rest! At club level or internationals

When the game turns and we start to play badly we’re so bad with our ball retention. I lost count how many times Mendy has given it away. Not picking on him but he seems to have been the worst offender.

The sky coverage team have been choking to mention the Newcastle support at every available opportunity.

They just ignored it for the first fifteen minutes when it was crap.

Just narrative driven bullshit that you expect from sky.

Just before they scored the commentator said "looks like the team in blue are going to prevail" at one-nil with an hour left. Lazy commentary throughout.

I don't know why people are struggling to see this. Daka has to drop into midfield or pull on to the wing to ever get a touch. What do they want him to do?

We should expect Daka to be able to do this though? Unfortunately he struggles to control, hold the ball up and pass it at the moment whether up front, on the wing or when he finds himself in midfield.

Struggling to think of anyone who had a decent first half, apart from maybe KDH.

Thomas has been rubbish. Tielemans also dreadful, he needs dropping

KDH gets such a free ride. Passes the ball to nowhere for the goal, then gets beaten to it and has regularly given the ball away. He’s been just as bad as Tielemans and Mendy.

Exactly. At least he’ll get one this summer, with the World Cup being in December.

Yes, if he's not getting a touch, it's what he should be doing. That's not his game though. He needs to be played in behind.

Yeh but we can’t afford for him to be that 1 dimensional
