RowlattsFox Posted 29 April 2022 Posted 29 April 2022 Surely the porn mp guy wasn't actually watching pornhub in the commons I reckon he's been done by a not safe for work WhatsApp message...or an inadvertent Twitter retweet..or forgetting to close the tab before opening his phone..I sound like I'm talking from experience here but I'm not, I promise 1

He could easily have got out of this by insisting that it was definitely a work event and that he only had a beer because he's a functioning alcoholic. And that's why I lost my job as the Labour Party Director of Communications 2

Bellend Sebastian Posted 30 April 2022 Posted 30 April 2022 I know he's low profile so it was always more likely that he'd fall on his sword, but Neil Parish resigning for watching porn almost feels like a chivalrous gesture from a bygone age 1

A WhatsApp message he opened ). But once it became apparent that he’d done it before, he had no option. pathetic …… but no surprise given the examples from the leadership …..
Unabomber Posted 30 April 2022 Posted 30 April 2022 Why would you watch porn in the House of Commons? Unless he was playing danger wank on level expert. 2

BlueSi13 Posted 30 April 2022 Posted 30 April 2022 Seriously, was he just sat there watching it? Who watches porn if you can't crack one off at the same time? You could almost admire the self-discipline. 2

StanSP Posted 1 May 2022 Posted 1 May 2022 What's all this shite about Tories getting their knickers in a twist about a Labour/Lib Dem tactic in certain constituencies? Not putting forward MPs in South West (?) to allow for Lib Dem to capitalise. Isn't this a thing generally around election time? Tories got in the same bed with UKIP a few years back, no? Tories literally had a coalition with Lib Debs when Cameron got into power. What am I missing here? Or is it really a case of Tories getting all pissy that they may lose a bit more power later this week? 4

Ukip/Brexit party candidates stood down in the last election to give the tories a free run at some seats. They are just being hypocritical. Edited 1 May 2022 by Facecloth 2

They're also massive hypocrites and project their own faults like there's no tomorrow. 3
BKLFox Posted 1 May 2022 Posted 1 May 2022 Someone on here the other week asked what Labour were missing and what they needed to do to win over Tory votes or those sat on the fence and for me it’s this, stop with the constant bickering over the little things, trying to get cheap wins by trying to blow the small things into big things & ultimately making it into white noise, it’s like the young person in class always with their hand up saying miss miss miss everyone switches off from them, just get the message across of what They will do to make things better. The other day a Tory MP gets highlighted and mocked on here and in the national press, on line etc for saying.. Tennis Pitches.. so f’ing what, yet the week before maybe even the same week a Labour MP on live morning Tv was talking about the war in the east and says …..Russia’s invasion of Croatia….& had to be corrected by the hosts, yet nothing on here & very little in the press is said, great it was a slip of the tongue we all knew what they meant, the constant highlighting of the simple things is boring and just turns people off. Putting this into real life, if I had 3 builders round for ideas and a quote on a kitchen extension I wanted and 1 of them spent his time knocking the other 2 builders and their work instead of showing me what jobs he’s worked on and how he would keep costs down without sacrificing quality, guess who falls out the running straight away. I know it’s a forum & Nation to express free speech but every time highlighting when an opposition MP has picked their nose despite them picking their noses themselves stops people really thinking about the real issues and they just put an X where they did the previous time. 1

Funny you talk about hypocrisy and things not being spoken about on here, but you have in fact failed to mention how hypocritical Tories sound this morning about a so-called 'pact' from other parties to get Tories out of power. HOW BLOODY DARE THEY?! I agree no one is perfect and there'll always be those that make bad gaffes. But I have absolutely no problem with opposition - be it politicians or followers - magnifying any errors the current party make. In fact, I'd rather they do it more. Playing nicely doesn't seem to work any more. About time any opposition showed a bit more fight and savvy about them. It's not boring. It hasn't turned many off. A lot of the polling figures seems to show a big swing away from Conservative power so something must be working. Or maybe it's nothing the opposition are doing. Maybe it's because those in power actually show very little leadership and it's actually nothing to do with the 'small' things. 2 1

Not saying things shouldn’t be highlighted, questioned or challenged i’m saying bringing up 10 pointless things to try and make it look incompetence or whatever takes away from the 1 big thing that actually is but is now watered down because casual voters just see an 11th item and it’s bundled in as such. My post hasn’t been brought on by todays events or even the past week but from the moment that poster asked what are labour missing with connecting to those split voters & this is just my opinion, what has Labour said to me about how they will be better? You can’t disagree that watching these grown adults acting and talking the way they do in parliament with trying to get the one-upmanship jibe or funny, doesn’t make the casual voter think that they all nobs & switch off. Imagine if this is what it was like in your place of work nothing gets done because you’d be constantly bogged down in trying to Score or Defend instead of produce. 2
