I was working paramedic back then and it was quite clear to me and my colleagues that sending people to care homes from hospital was causing an increase in Covid cases in care homes. I had no idea of the legal aspect of the Gov decision and at the time we knew those going into care home were untested prior to discharge and it just seemed bizarre that hospitals would do that. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I maintain sympathy for the government for that time, because I’m pretty convinced that there weren’t any “good” options available to them. But the statement that they didn’t know about asymptomatic transmission annoys me.
