Capable options I agree but we surely aren't spending nearly our club record for a back up DCM.

Not a back up - year 1 we mix and match and potentially we then have the option of selling wilf next summer. Would be great to have quality depth in the squad to attack both cups and the league. I think the finances are ok with a year out of europe but another failure to qualify next season would probably see further sales

Kamara on a free from Marseille is the deal we should be trying to do, he is unbelievable.

Nevermind, get Mohamed Camara from RB Salzburg instead.

....he loves to progress the ball, a sort of Kante style, he has good skills but at times a heavy touch where he ends up chasing the ball!!!

His short passes are very Ndidi like where they are either infront  or behind his teammates where as his long passing is accurate. He has the tendency not to move the ball quick enough, when, through his own endeavours, he has created the openings for space for his team to operate in.

If he came here he would have to stamp his authority on our team, especially the midfield, as his present teammates  appear to work off him, adjusting their positions in relation to what he doing.

Spot on mate with the Kante assessment.

I decided to watch numerous Salzburg Champions League games because I was curious of Matthias Jaissle management style.

They are such an enjoyable team to watch, highly energetic all over the pitch but Mohamed Camara stood out to me, I thought this guy is the closest thing I’ve seen to N’Golo Kante, he was absolutely everywhere.

They recruit incredibly, we should be all over Jonas Eder and pay him a fortune to come and head up our recruitment.

Camara is class, as is Sucic

He's not coming here to play 2nd fiddle to Ndidi and so you'd only pay that for him if we cashed in on Ndidi which wouldn't be the worst move in the world. Sell Ndidi for £55m and buy Sangare for £35m.

Come on, Ric - 55 million for Ndidi is an absolute fantasy.  The only clubs that could afford that would find him basically unplayable unless they were protecting a lead late.

Man Utd would pay it.

No way.  IMHO of course.

They paid £47m for Fred, who although is better on the ball than Ndidi, has nowhere near the defensive prowess that Ndidi gives a team when he's in his pomp. Man Utd are nuts. I'd not put it past Newcastle to start offering stupid money to weaken rivals too.

Ndidi is a 25 million player max, full stop.  He has no starting role in any side that relies on their midfield to control the match and generate chances.

The stats say different

most clubs work from stats nowadays

wilf would easily bring us in £40m+ and I suspect we would set the price at £50m. He has struggled with his knee for some time - hopefully the surgery will have dealt with that and we will see a player next season who is back to his best.

I don’t think he walks into most teams above us though tbh. He’s not good enough on the ball for Man City or Liverpool. Chelsea and Spurs play a midfield pair so need more rounded players. Arsenal have Partey. West Ham (still) have Rice.

He’d get in Utds side but with Ten Hag in he might not want that kind of player. And that’s where I think Wilfs options would be limited. He’s great at what he does but he doesn’t do enough of what those other clubs require. You can’t just be a ball winner, you have to offer more with the ball than he does. If Ten Hag wanted a defensive midfielder to sit in front of his back four (which may be a possibility given how weak their backline currently looks) then he strolls into their side with his eyes closed.
If there’s interest in him though, then he’s definitely more than 25mills worth.

Imo this undervalues Ndidi.

I wouldn't want us to sell him.  If we did , I'd want at least double.
