I’ve been pelted on here all season for criticising Dan Amartey. I’ve been abused, banned… all sorts

The reality is that he (and a number of others) are simply not good enough to take this club anywhere.

That’s about the bottom line tbf.

Rodgers is fookin it up tactically but the reality is we need better players. Even the quality players (like Tielemans) clearly ain’t bothered anymore. His head has been elsewhere for months.

To move forward we need a fresh manager with fresh ideas who is going to be able to get rid of the likes of Amartey, Mendy, Soumare, Perez and Tielemans and replace them with better quality players OR up and coming players with a point to prove. It’ll have to be a two pronged thing. We can’t keep Rodgers as I don’t trust him with the money. And we can’t keep the bang average players any longer.

That second half told us all we needed to know about where the club is at. Sideways passing between Mendy and Amartey.
I’d much rather have the great escape season.

Col, you spent most of that season criticising Esteban Cambiasso and getting pelted for it. I think you're just some kind of Foxestalk Masochist who enjoys it all really. lol

Yes. I did say this during Ranieri’s 2nd season, Shakespeare’s reign, Puel’s reign and after Rodgers’ first full season. The club hasn’t learned. We keep hiring managers who either favour safe possession football or regress towards it out of cowardice.

If the club is to move forward, the number 1 priority has to be to replace the current manager with one that favours high-tempo football. For everyone’s sake.

I actually wonder what Gerrard or especially Lampard could do with our Next seasons squad...I reckon both would be a Good shout.

Because I See both taking their clubs higher than what Rodgers could deliver...

Today..excuses ran out, I Never Take Note of immediate Post game interviews, but he really Outed IMO, what even ' on the fence fans' like myself really

didnt want to hear...After another ( again not result) poor splintered performance...

This is a Squad that has in only short past produced !...Why are they with each other & manager so out of sync..??

Gerrard! He’s going nowhere till he gets the Liverpool or the England job I suspect.

I’d not be surprised if he has Villa top 6/7 next season

Gonna be genius from Rodgers when we conspire to lose to Everton, so Leeds go down and we can sign Raphinha on the cheap to solve the long standing RW problem we’ve had. Followed by the title next season.

Playing the long game…

Who do Leeds have to play? There’s a genuine chance we could go down.

Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford. We’re safe for this season at least.

If we lose to Watford, Norwich and Southampton, we deserve relegation

Knew all along that craig Pawson allowed Gordon to dive and take down our players with No retribution then the second half comes along he goes down like Tom Daley and put comes a card for Amartey and the superb tackle by KDH a who got the ball can’t remember who then rolled around as If he’d broken his leg but poor officiating yet again ruined the game, mind you we didn’t really help ourselves we made Everton look good today Tielemans has to be dropped last few weeks he’s been so poor his passing woeful his tackling as bad it’s as if he’s left already !

Hope this lot pick themselves up before Wednesday if we lose to Norwich that’ll be one horrendous night and we can only thank god we have a few more points than the ones below otherwise it’ll be us looking over our shoulder !!

Still miss Ulloa 😢

This is true. We don't have a way to shake it up and be different. Ulloa was good in both boxes. We can't even offer a tall forward to help defend corners. I suppose we do miss Wilf although he was not playing great before latest injury.  We used to be so quick in getting from the back to front. We have turned into a slower inferior Arsenal trying to pass the ball into the goal before they improved again.

All I'm saying is I never want to hear that shite annoying song their fans kept singing with the girlie scream in it.

Imagine if both of their screamers had gone in though.

We know that we are still pathetically vulnerable to the set piece, so the second was no surprise. This is a very much a coaching issue and the adherence to zonal marking for two thirds of this season was borderline negligence.

The first was the sort of strike I willingly pay money to see from either side and happy to stand up and applaud such a beautifully taken goal even though 99.9% of the time that's heading for row triple Z and Mykolenko's unlikely ever to do that again. He did have an aeon to set it up though. Also delighted to see some glory and cause for celebration for the young Ukrainian player. Shame about the injury.

I thought that was a very entertaining game. We weren't "abysmal" ffs, but I can see why the same loose passing, inability to close down the opposition or finish in the final third incenses our support and forum member, particularly since it's the same mistakes that are made week in week out.

Football can be so ****ing negative. Comments like "lets send these c***s down" - I can't understand it. Yes Norwich are a non-entity and Burnley really have become the unflushable turd (Moor) of the Premier League, but why would you want to see a club with the pedigree of Everton relegated? A football club with at genuine sense of community and genuine local support - yeah the ownership is questionable (I'm referring chiefly to USM), but great to see Kenwright still there - a scouser himself and long term chairman and I also saw Toffees luminary Graham Sharp on the screen. The travelling support was excellent today and completely behind the team. They won't go down I'm pleased to say and I hope that they rebuild and can at least continue to offer an alternative to the obligatory LFC hegemony and glory support around the country that seems to have surpassed even Man U.

A very disappointing season for us, but this result doesn't overly bother me since our season is done and it's a valuable three points for Everton which will probably go a long way to assure their survival. I would also suggest that if that glorious strike from Mendy or the shot form Barnes has gone in the 'Brendan Rodgers' thread wouldn't have been triggered and neither would our fickle fanbase.

Of course the manager must shoulder some of the blame. I can't be arsed to work this out, but how many points has our inability to defend corners actually cost us this year? Hypothetically speaking, how many places in the table? Someone? It's also our inability to see out a game - late equalisers. I'm still emotionally scarred following the disaster against Spurs - I literally fled. I ran out of the stadium at full time and didn't stop running until I'd reached Vicky Park.

We simply lack both the quality and depth to wage a European campaign. The fact that we have even been challenging for European entry and until recently CL qualification is admirable. I think that a season to concentrate solely on the league and domestic cup competitions is precisely what we need. Some prudent transfer activity this summer would be most welcome too - and that in honesty is my greatest concern - recruitment.

Anyway, congratulations to Everton and kudos to their travelling fans today.

Saying some of the players don't have winning mentality

The lack of total commitment may be down to the fact that quite a few of the players have already been told they will not be here next season or do not want to be here.

Well balanced post.

Perhaps but it’s a million miles from the way people are feeling right now. Besides which, many like freespending clubs such as Everton to get their comeuppance.
