1.) I don't really want to hear about footballing pedigree or the tradional hierarchy of the game. It means absolutely nothing. No-one has a god-given right to be in the top flight and the likes of Sheff Wed, Forest and Sunderland being outside the Prem hasn't made the league poorer. Whatever your fanbase or history, the table doesn't lie. Poor teams deserve to drop.

2.) We'd be comfortably top 6, maybe higher

1/ It does actually - and not always for the better. I would rather see the blue side of Liverpool with their genuine support remain in the Premier League as opposed to Merseyside being solely represented than their glory hunting counterparts - increasingly with no local affiliation whatsoever.

Poor teams do indeed deserve to drop and Everton have some quality about them which is precisely why they won't.

2/ Quite possibly.

That first goal was good though .

We huffed and puffed and Pickford kept them in it plenty of effort but no result again

I happen to think Vardy Barnes and a few others are done at this level sadly

Feels like the problems which have been in the BR reign have finally all come together to produce what we have now. Poor tactics, formations, continued lack of leader on the pitch/squad, insistence on keeping the ball without any drive or intent, lack of true RW options, poor match day experience, arrogant manager who has now nearly completely alienated the fan base with continued derogative comments about the club, the worst set pieces (both defending and attacking) in 40 years of supporting Citeh, lacklustre  recruitment and a squad of players who have stopped listening.............

In short, the summer rebuild needs to start with a change of manager. I hate to think what a summer of recruitment with BR at the helm might deliver................

Time for a change

Kasper parrying balls out the way he does on shots has gifted so many goals this season

Yep. Stowell ruins keepers, time is up for both of them.

Kasper will leave as a legend though

One of the reasons we won the league in 15/16 was because of the good form we finished the 14/15 season in (we won  7 out of last 10 games) and the momentum it gave us. One of the reasons we were relegated in the 01/02 season was the poor form we finished the 00/01 season in (we lost 9 out of last 10 games). I think unless there are major changes we could easily see a repeat of 01/02 season in  22/23.

Honestly, this feels like the torrid form that we were in during the 17/18 season. It felt like that from March - May we lost pretty much every home game. Notable mentions go out to losses against terrible Newcastle and West Ham teams.

It almost is a clone but perhaps worse (because we have a better squad). I hope that the club hierarchy use that as an understudy and see that keeping Puel was basically a waste of a season.

Previous to us giving them 4 points in 2 weeks it wasn't exactly evident where that "quality" was going to pick up any points or why that "quality" had only won one away match since August.

No, it really wasn't was it but it is undeniable they have some very good players - sufficiently so to avoid the drop.

I mean, Stowell's been here since 2005, wouldn't say Kasper's career has been ruined by him :D In fact at Kasper's stage of his career he'll be virtually coaching himself, most of Stowell's mentoring will be the academy kids.

What was that song they kept going for most of the match? Sounded like an American cheer leaders thing. Surprised they didn't have pom-poms. Everton rah rah rah.

I really wanted us to be them. Sadly it's the same story. On top for most of the game but inspired goalkeeping keep us out.

The Goals we conceded were poor though. though the first was a sweet strike.

Knew it was going to be a shit show when Sweet Caroline was played before the game, again.

Is it just me or do the players look bored? If they're bored, it's no surprise the paying public are too.

I am DISGUSTED at SO CALLED “Everton” today, there was absolutely NO NEED for their time wasting tactics…

Because we were shite and never gunna score anyway

Next time just go for a 3rd lads

Everton did what the ref allowed them to do. The officials are the problem. 3 minutes of stoppage time

They've also got bagfuls of luck.  They deserved nothing at home to Chelsea, but Chelsea contrived not to score while presenting Richarlison with a free shot from the edge of the area.  They deserved nothing against Newcastle, but Newcastle somehow failed to score and then presented them with a free goal at the end of the match.  They didn't deserve anything at home to you either.  Richarlison should have been sent off twice in two games.  Not that I'm bitter.  Oh no, of course not.  GRRRR.

Leeds may save the Clarets yet!

I remembered the match was on today, this morning but forgot by the afternoon. So never watched it. I think for me the season must really be over.

Mathematically out of Europe but still not mathematically safe. Indefensible and embarrassing. Imagine if Salah scores that penalty - we're actually a bit twichy now.

What a miserable season. Every one of them should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

I agree with you about a few of our players who are just not up to it but I don’t think by a long way Vardy is finished at this level at all he still has a lot to offer most games teams put 2 players near him because they know the danger he can deliver, he just needs a bit more game time he’s been out for months with a couple of injuries he can still pop up and score a goal or two certainly not finished yet!

As for Barnes he’s a bit hot and cold at the min is it his confidence in some way or has his head been turned by the rumours to bigger clubs who knows, but this lad can ooze some real quality rip a defence apart with his runs, god only knows what’s happened to him of late but he’s one I think isn’t finished at this level !

There are players Bertrand Vestergaard who for a couple need to be moved on and we do need to rebuild in the summer we need competition for places but most of all we need to stop swapping and changing the starting 11 week in week out we need stability in a squad players who can understand and be on the same wave length as each other, 4 games to go let’s see what this lot has to offer see where we can finish starting Wednesday against relegated Norwich a banana skin that needs avoiding !

Whether he is self-coached (which would signify a huge failure of our coaching set up) or Stowell is doing it - someone needs to tell him that he needs to collect crosses in his 6 yd box and not just shout “head away” whilst watching it sail past him!

it was pretty good actually, and their fans were very loud - possibly the loudest down there for a while.

Bloke next to me was tapping his foot along to the "woooh Everton" song! lol
