As much as Ward is poor I have to agree with others. He couldn’t have done anything about any of the goals tonight. I’ve played in goal at a reasonable level to be satisfied with the fact that he couldn’t of done a lot.

I’m not arguing that he’s good enough he clearly isn’t. But if anyone thinks that result would have been different if Mads was in goal clearly needs to give their heads a wobble and seriously consider not having an opinion on what they know nothing about

I’ve also played in goal at an ok standard and two of those goals today I’d have been mightily disappointed to concede.

3-2 with a competent keeper

It's just symptomatic of the complete drop in interest and standards at this club that Ward is still able to get competitive minutes. Zero ruthlessness at the club at any level.

Unreal this guy is still wearing the 1 shirt

Even more so that he has over 40 international caps - but perhaps be might be the best of a bad choice of goalkeepers with Wales, possibly.

I admit I didn't see the game, but can't judge. When he was Kasper's sub, he was great if there were penalties in a cup, but awful when he got the top spot.

But I think these posts are distracting from the Cooper - OUT posts!

I think it’s another reason for Cooper Out - He somehow thinks Ward is the second best keeper at the club

Ward has a strangely amateur manoeuvre where he kinda rocks backwards on his heels and slaps his arms against his hips as if to say 'aww, fck, you got me hook line and sinker'

It's the kinda thing that half of us on here would do if we trained with the U/23s. Everything simply too quick, too fast, always a step ahead..

The fella - and in his interviews he does seem a nice, unassuming fella btw - simply isn't a professional standard keeper. His body Language gives it away.

I had a trial for LCFC as a keeper way back in the past. I'm kinda proud to have reached that level. It never got anywhere, but I can see Ward's flaws and they are glaring IMO. Positioning, anticipation is poor. He's a reactive keeper which makes him a decent shot stopper. His reading of an attack and the positioning of the opposition players is remarkably poor. This makes him vulnerable to a) set pieces and b) crosses/passes to the edge of the 18yrd box with attackers running towards him. He seems to fail to read corner crosses and tends to step back rather than go front footed  to collect or parry a cross. His distribution from a goal kick is questionable and it seems he gets flustered under pressure.

Just my opinion as a "decent" keeper, in my youth. (50 years ago) lol

Shot stopping is by far his biggest weakness, on top of a long long list

Why didn't Iversen start tonight?

He seems to have stagnated a bit. Sad as he was getting rave reviews from his championship loans not long ago.

That's why he's comparatively good at penalties - he knows they are about to shoot!

He really does not identify danger quickly enough.

When I think of Shilton he was like a cat on a hot tin roof continually anticipating shots, through balls etc

Ward doesn't see it until it's travelling past him in many instances

Starting with Ward in goal is like starting a F1 race with 3 flat tyres.

Has to be hands down our worst ever transfer in our history. We paid good money for him too, double what we paid for Hermansen and probably on a bigger contract than Mads…….

The guy has literally stolen a living as a footballer and fair fcuking play to him for getting away with it.

Which goals should he have saved?

Its not that he should save a particular goal

it’s that he never seems to make a man amazing save

And when you add in the cheap goals that keepers always concede where they could have done a bit better, you’re left with a keeper that isn’t worth the position

Oh I agree, I am just interested to know which ones the OP thought Ward could have saved.

I often wish that I was Danny Ward.

I imagine myself reading all these hateful comments on here and chuckling to myself.  Then I would walk upstairs in my mansion, glance at my drop dead gorgeous wife and chuckle to myself again. I would then go back down to the indoor swimming pool and have a quick swim before bed.

I would then check my bank account and have another chuckle.

I would then have a blissful nights sleep on the finest pillows, duvet and mattress that money can buy.

In the morning I would wake up about 10:00 ish and jump in my sports car and take a drive to Seagrave where I would play football with my pals for a couple of hours. I would then have a massage, free lunch and use the gym in health spa standard facilities.

Forgot to mention I would almost certainly chuckle to myself at numerous points in my day so far.

I would then be finished by 2pm latest and would drive back to my mansion.

I would then check foxestalk to make sure you still all hated me.

Before going out to a Michelin starred restaurant for tea with my gorgeous wife.

To finish the day off, I would jump alone into my private sauna next to my swimming pool and give off a massive belly laugh, not just a chuckle.

Then into my pyjamas made of the finest cotton and off to bed.

Just before I dropped off I would check my phone again and have one final chuckle as I notice Leicester have payed me again this month as I count the zeros on my online banking app.

Brilliant ...love it lol
