I kind of hope that he ends up at Brentford seeing they took the risk to bring him in in the first place.
Deeg67 Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano Christian Eriksen deal. Brentford are not giving up after bid submitted few weeks ago, Thomas Frank confirms to AS: “We hope he’ll decide in two weeks - he’ll call me and tell me what he wants to do” 🇩🇰 #Eriksen Man United have confirmed their interest to his agent last weekend.
FoxinNotts Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 (edited) So if we believe what we read, Spurs have dropped out. Leaving Brentford, West Ham, Man Utd, Everton, Ajax and us. He's stated that he's not too interested in Champions League football and he's very settled in London, with his family. Realistically, I don't think he'd leave Brentford for West Ham. I also don't think he'd leave for the North West or Amsterdam. I genuinely think he's weighing up staying at Brentford, and coming to us. But I also think he'll only come to us, if he knows Youri is off. With his history, I think he would be happy with not having to play too many games, i.e. not having to play in Europe, so this might be a factor. Edited 21 June 2022 by FoxinNotts
An Sionnach Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 At his age he will be weighing up who is going to pay the most money. Brentford would struggle desperately to pay him what he wants. 1

It certainly is an interesting one, with some factors that are not the usual transfer BS.
Nalis Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 He'll only leave Brentford for Man U (or Spurs if they stayed in the running) in my view. Dont like Brentford but why leave a club that gave you a chance for club like a lower top half club like us or West Ham?

Who you trying to kid. Why would he not want European football at his age. Not like he would be played every game. Like a hell of a lot of players this season hes going to have to be managed. That tin pot trophy at xmas is going to make or break someone's season this year.

Not many have his attitude most just want the money.
alanf0x Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 He will either stay at Brentford or move to Manchester United. He won’t sign for us just because Kasper tells him we do nice food at the training ground!!!
Popular Post jmono84 Posted 21 June 2022 Popular Post Posted 21 June 2022 Whatever the guy decides I won’t judge at all. He almost died and it’s a miracle he’s played at the highest level again so good luck to the bloke. 6
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 No chance he comes to a provincial club at his age. 1

I’m not trying to ‘kid’ anyone 🤷🏻♂️ His Age wasn’t the factor I was referring to! I was suggesting (actually agreeing with you, it seems) that, having had a heart attack, he may not want to be at a team with a potential additional 20 odd games in their season.
Deeg67 Posted 21 June 2022 Posted 21 June 2022 As I said in another thread, what exactly is the draw for us when competing for a player this Eriksen? Every other name you see mentioned you can pick out an obvious reason why he'd consider it - the most money, CL (or at least European) football, a glamorous location, a rising star manager. What's the calling card with us?

What's the calling card with us? Sometimes, very rarely, there is circumstances and factors, that make a player and team a really good fit. For example, Cardiff and Bale (although that probably won’t happen) I do think, however, us and Eriksen won’t happen. As much as I’d like it to 1

Kasper has always been a brand ambassador for Leicester, saying the club "is not like other clubs" when it comes to how it is like a family, and the owners are different than other owners, etc. etc., and how players who leave tell him how they now know the atmosphere at Leicester is unique. If Kasper convinced him Leicester would offer once-a-week football with ambition, without some of the BS at other clubs, maybe he wants that at this stage in his life. But other than that, I don't know what the draw would especially be, given his desire to live in London. I am sure we can match Brentford on wages, but not so sure about West Ham. I certainly doubt he wants to throw himself into the mess of ManU, even if he didn't have heart issues. 1

He knows Ten Haag I thought I read? Would like to think he would give it serious consideration if we proposed a sutiable contract.

I think the insurers of a lot clubs with European football would themselves be "risk averse" on Eriksen, tbh. There is a saying: Once you go into cardiac arrest, you are a heart patient for life. Look, any sports organization can get a Dr. Spaceman to sign off on a health certificate, but insurance companies look at statistics, and probably don't want heart patients playing twice a week. But who knows? He might hate Kasper, might love Ten Haag, etc, etc. 2
