the same kdh who went on loan to div 1 and the championship? you’re contradicting yourself

It worked for KDH but its not for everybody. I am not a massive fan of loans to be honest. We have a pretty poor record there with a few exceptions. Sammy , I would prefer to be kept in house. We shall see , nothing is written in stone and the club may have other ideas.

do we have a bad record or did the players turn out to not be good enough? personally i’d rather they do that elsewhere than for us.

we’ve not had any that have gone on to much better than us afterwards.

.....it seems you are trying to wrap him up in cotton wool!!!

He is not going to improve and toughen up playing on the training ground, he needs games to learn, and we need to give him that opportunity. If you have followed the Loan thread, you will notice how far our players are behind players who play week after week. You have to be pretty special to get the trust of a manager with his livelihood on the line.

most of our best players have plied their trade in lower divisions- with Barnes and KDH being loans.

Eriksen is exactly the kind of quality midfielder we need, especially if we lose Youri. He'd be a great signing if we can pull it off.

Though the lure of champions league will be difficult to overcome.

Champions League will draw him to Spurs no doubt. But I’d bloody love to have this guy.

he almost died a year ago, right now he’s just happy to have a working heart.

I thought I remembered that when he left spurs it all went a bit sour with his relationship with the club or have I made that up ? Surprised to see suggestions he would go back...

I dont think he'll go back to Spurs. Conte has a very specific and successful way of playing. When he was at Inter he rarely picked Eriksen because he didn't fit into his gameplan, hence why they were looking to sell him before his heart scare.

Barnes? Hamza?

Does he play as deep as an 8 now?

That's an interesting point. I think the answer is no. He seems to play a more attacking role supporting the forwards from what I've seen of him.

But he's such an intelligent player that he could play anywhere in midfield.

With Eriksen, Maddison and Vardy I could seem them all reaching double fighures supporting each other.

We still need a big brute defensive type of midfielder to play with NDiddito stop teams before they get to our Box. As well as helping out at set pieces.

So that means he can’t have career aspirations? If he was happy to just be alive he would have retired.

His career aspirations were to comeback and play football. Which he is doing…. I don’t think he is that bothered about playing in Europe he will want to play for a club that values him and allows him to continue playing for as long as he can.

If that’s true, then we’re the club for him

If we can get him up to Seagrave and show him around the facilities we might stand a chance however he keeps staying the next move has to be right for him and his family and I can’t see him uprooting from London to come and live here, especially when he’s only ever lived in huge cities such as London, Milan & Amsterdam.

Schmeichel has never moved from Manchester/Cheshire so no reason why he can't stay in London.

I can’t see any reason for him coming to us. If he wants to play the highest level, then he wants a CL club. If he wants to just play regularly and give himself the best chance of playing for Denmark with the upcoming World Cup, then he’ll stick with Brentford.

If there’s any sentiment involved in his decision he’ll either stay put because Brentford gave him the opportunity or he’ll go back to Spurs, as they’re his former club and after a rocky start under Conte in Italy he got the confidence of the manager and now knows if Conte wants him then he’ll have a key role.

If there’s no sentiment involved then he’s going wherever the money is. And I have my doubts we’ll be the highest bidder in that case. I think the opportunity went in January.

Not sure if already said, but Sky have reported that he has offers from us, Manchester United, Everton, Leicester, Brentford, West Ham and Ajax.
