Yeah but they'd be a bit silly announcing 32,000 when it was quite obvious there were thousands of empty seats in the home end and a half full away end.

Silly maybe but unless there are counters on all the entrances this is how it is.

Yesterday in the ground and now watching highlights, I still can't work out how their lanky fvck of a goalkeeper got beaten by the deflected and looping Vardy shot lol. He was standing on his line pretty much.

You would hope the automated turnstiles could count the number of tickets scanned in.

More drivel you plank, during my lifetime of watching my team I have sat through Mclintock, Pleat, Taylor, Levein and I could go on. However I knew we were crap then, I expected to see crap and was rarely disappointed. This was different, I travelled to Rome, spent a fortune to watch a very talented nearly fully fit squad put in such an abject performance topped off by bewildering tactics that I was fuming which is a rarity.I think we all knew what would happen against Everton, a demoralised rudderless team vs a rubbish side fighting for their lives, and we were not wrong. For the first time in many years I decided not to attend having been bored Sh****** for most of the season.

I decided not to throw even more of my hard earned cash at it getting to and from the game and all the other associated costs. However you somehow seem to think it’s shameful that I did not attend, despite the fact I was approached by a fellow forum member who when seeing I was not going asked if he could have my ticket for his mate and I was only too happy to oblige.
Did you go to Rome and if so how did you feel coming out of the ground and the following days?

Here here

The final straw for me was Roma away

Call me a crap fan for wanting us to lose last night, that’s fine. But I probably spent what a STH home games only fan spends in an entire season on that one trip alone  (to say nothing of Napoli, Warsaw and Rennes before. (Plus a gamble on flights to Tirana- more fool me for putting faith in Brendern)

I’ll never forgive Rodgers for any of those meek performances, especially the semi final, passing it around the defence with 5 mins left to go.

Haven’t been too invested in recent months because of work amongst other things. But I’m more annoyed by the Everton result recently because losing to them has put them in control to stay up.
Would have been somehow sweet to help relegate a team that has never been outside the top flight (I think?).

Last night was good response to the weekend. A solid performance and refreshing to win, nothing more, nothing less. A 3-0 and clean sheet - albeit only against Norwich - will only help our case ahead of the final 3 games. We'll probably pick up another 3-4 points and roll over the line in 9th-12th. I'd like to see us make a decent fist of it and pick up 6 or more points, especially as Watford away and Southampton at home are both very winnable, but this season has been so turgid and the emphasis is so clearly on the summer that I'm not sure we will.

Norwich carved us open three times int he first half - we were lucky (and fair dues to kasper) to keep it to 0 0 at HT.
Then bringing on mendy shored things up and as the game regressed vardy found his scoring touch.

Yet problems persist - any other club would have tortured us with the  first half config.  Barnes need a mentor to build is confined - even at 2 up in the the second half he ran in tot he box.... and looked for a pass.  Rodgers just leave player to their faults!

Me too still fuming about last Thursday . Zero enthusiasm for last 2 matches ( although I did attend )

After so many let downs this season it will take a lot from this current set up to get me on board again

Arm - made him look he was doing his groin thing he does but he hurt his arm judging from the chat he had with Rodgers

Did find the lack of a 2nd and 3rd sub a bit of a head scratcher

How many times has Brendan received a dogs abuse on here for bringing on subs to defend a lead.  Bloke can't do right for doing wrong.

We were defending a two-goal lead with twenty eight minutes to play and a three goal lead with twenty to play. This wasn't a single goal lead ala Spurs or Everton

If players had knocks as Vardy did, it made sense to bring them.

Imagine the howls on here if defending a two goal lead with almost half an hour to go if took off a couple of forward players and put on Soyuncu and Thomas.

"Boring"

"No ambition"

"Should've gone for it"

"Martin O'Neil wouldn't have done that"

"Peul would've done that"

You've been waiting all season to write that 🤣

Yes a meaningless mid week game against a relegated side absolutely proves this doesn't it you plank.

Absolutely does when you factor in the other occasions this season where we’ve struggled to shift tickets.

Would you like to elaborate on that with any facts?

Not one for context then chief?

Theres miles between making a sub because a player is injured and making a "tactical" sub when the team look fine due to a percieved.

Leaving an injured player on is a poor decision. Changing tactics in the last 5-10 minutes when your team looks comfortable is also equally poor.

Rennes, Randers, Roma and PSV also needed big pushes and campaigns. Don’t kid yourself. 21000 and 25000 for cup games. Imagine 21000 in a 40000 seater.

You seem to be assuming that it would be about defending the lead.

I found odd that with a good lead we didn’t rest players. One of which Vardy was nursing an injury in the last ten minutes. Maddison and KDH in the last week have both been named as carrying knocks

The EL group stages have to take into account around 1k is left free for segregation and UEFA folk. Napoli and Spartak both had unsold away ends

It was clear that we shut up shop at 3-0

the players approach changed immediately

not to make two more changes was v weird

Yeah fair enough for them ones. There’s also no chance there was 31,830 there for Brentford at home.

I'm not a BR fanboy I'll declare that from the off and last nights heartening result doesn't change that, it was an outlier just as being beaten by any of the top 3 is.

Last nights game highlighted to me that Tielemans as others has been played out of position by Rodgers for most of this season in a vain attempt to make his boring system work, l firmly believe that one of Youri's reasons for leaving in the summer is this - along with wanting to play in Europes top competition(s) and that he will shine again under a good manager playing a more offensive system - as we used to - at another club.

Is he worth £40 mil? At his best yes and more, the way BR employs him then nowhere near it, but other clubs can see that his talent is being wasted here and l think Youri does too.

Mendy clearly should have started the game as many here said before kick off so praising Rodgers for bringing him on at half time is rather diluted but still a tick.

How great was it to see Vards doing his stuff again but l was totally baffled by the lack of youngsters at least on the bench in a meaningless fixture at home against the lowly Norwich, if not in this game, when?

The biggest worry for me is if other players feel that they will not achieve success under Rodgers management they will go, Maddison is the beating heart of this team - we cannot lose him and we have 5 or 6 brilliant young rising stars who may be looking in other directions to fulfill their ambitions, another (or worse) season like this one may see them leave that is if they still have faith now!

One thing is for certain though, no one leaves city to find better owners!

I expect us to beat Watford and Soton and lose to Chelsea, the first two will show if last nights good stuff was a blip or not the trip to the capital will prove little just as last nights game did.

This is all guesswork of course, we can't know how players feel about anything and l really hope l have to admit l was wrong about Rodgers and that he is the real deal, but l dont think l am or he is.
