Found it odd that we made no subs in the second half and there was no real sign of Brendan  on the touch line. Led some to speculate something had kicked off in the dressing room at half time

Probably why we were much better second half.

Can eighth in the Premier League qualify for Europe?

It is impossible for eighth to qualify by league position. This team must win a domestic cup competition or a European title to play in Europe the following season.

For the record, I was being sarcastic, given it was earlier speculated that someone would start a thread about this very subject.

Haha this will now lead to another 20+ posts about us still having a sniff at Europe.

Expected 3 points but still have to get the job done. Heavy weather of it first half, much better second half. Vintage Vardy second half. Get to the end of the season with another two wins hopefully and go from there

I am not that influential - or are people really that daft?

Agreed, it’s his timing of his runs as well, I think we all take for granted just how good his game is and how much he occupies his markers. They’re ****ing shit scared of him.

I know the goals have dried up since he got injured and the build up play has been ponderous for a while but Daka is not much of an outlet. Lots to work on but the potential is there..

....Daka's movements does not trigger a pass!!!

He wants the ball, he makes the run but it is not read by the midfield and so we struggle to get him in on goal. The difference with Vardy is that we have had time to read and understand what he does in order to trigger the pass. He (Daka) might just have to change his movements to be successful or we learn to get on his wavelength to make this work.

Good win, nice to see Vardy back and firing again. Can't help but feel with a little bit more effort in previous prem games would have seen us back in the Europa. Sadly all the eggs were in the wrong basket. Nevermind. Next season we better blitz it, or Rodgers walks. Give him the next few weeks and if we end up top ten, the first two months of next season. Any less than challenging top 6 at that point, goodbye. Foxes never quit.

So no credit for a win against Norwich because they are at the bottom, does this mean people will let the team and manager of without any criticism if we lose to Chelsea next week because they are near the top?

I was quoting Alex Ferguson when he told his team, "Lads, it's Tottenham." in the dressing room

IF we manage to get up to 8th this season, it will look relatively tame for how shit its really been.

It's a terrible reflection on the league, like Man Utd's position as well really.

That said if we can get 8th playing like this then Europe again really may not be far away.

A first for me tonight. For the first time in twenty odd years I didn't have to get up once, for the usual suspects, to go for drinks, pies, toilet etc. There were ten empty seats next to me though.😂

The sad truth is we were playing the worst team in the division, the rest of the season we weren't.

The pro-Brendan coming out in numbers tonight like beating the shittest team (really, really shit) that are already relegated at home in the league is some kind of stroke of genius and negates 18 months of dross.

I get it, some people are happy to be mediocre and watch dull shite week in week out because it makes them better fans. They have a longing to be a small club, an underdog and hope we will be little old Leicester forever more.

Others strive for better, want to be entertained when they spend their money and get disappointed when we consistently play like shit. They believe we can be better, have been better and damn well should be better with the squad we have.

Nobody should be changing their views on the back of this result. That really would be fickle.

I support the club, always will, but I don't currently support Brendan or his style of football. No manager is bigger than the club, ever.

So..you have said it enough times, why mention it on post match thread instead, of  totting it up on the numerous Rodgers thread...

Obsessions ,afflictions..or agendas...

Every game does not have to be about the manager..!

Many many empty seats. Imagine when the expansion happens. @Chocolate Teapot

....this is a protest, people voting with their feet!!!

With the last embers of the season still smouldering, nothing to gain, except additional finance from league placing, and what we are witnessing at the moment, it is no real surprise.

Always happy to take the win as a City fan but let’s not get too excited. 3-0 against that Norwich side was par for the course.

At least we didn’t concede a corner!

I thought we were very professional last night. We moved. the ball much quicker, created a lot of chances first half with their keeper making some outstanding saves and then moved up a gear second half to put the game comfortably to bed. I’m not trying to take away from that performance but that Norwich side was the worst I can remember in the PL. They barely pressed, gave us oodles of time on the ball and after the first half created diddly squat. I’m very interested to see how we perform at Chelsea. I’m not expecting anything from the game but the nature of the performance could be very informative.
