I’m fully behind Ukraine with the war effort and all. We did brilliantly, but I’m thinking what was the point of the national judges vote and watching all the songs to just be given such a result.

Everyone else was on a hiding to nothing, they’d won it before opening their mouths or playing a note. 
maybe the voters see it as a way to show their solidarity which is a lovely gesture but maybe a genuinely prolonged ovation in the arena after their song would have been a way to show it without hijacking the result.

Coming second was effectively a win, Ukraine were always going to get that public vote. Anyway I suppose it is a good thing they did and shows we are all behind them and hope they prevail over Putin and his goons
