The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Leaving Maguire out is a mistake Not taking that waste of space Foden is a brilliant call, albeit a brave one for the divs who think he’s world class 3
StanSP Posted 21 May Author Posted 21 May Who's the LB then? Thought Shaw had it nailed on? Thought Foden would get in.
StanSP Posted 21 May Author Posted 21 May Shame Wharton isn't in either. Thought he was deserving of a spot. 1
Rubbersoul Posted 21 May Posted 21 May No Lewis Hall is hilarious. To be fair I’m not even sure what formation we play under him I haven’t seen a minute of it

Lionator Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Imagine being told after the Euro’s that a fit Cole Palmer wouldn’t make the squad. hes going for functionality over flair but I feel there’s a clear lack of individual quality in our squad compared to our rivals to win the thing (Spain, France, Portugal).
Lionator Posted 21 May Posted 21 May 19 minutes ago, StanSP said: Who's the LB then? Thought Shaw had it nailed on? Thought Foden would get in. Luke Thomas.
Tielemans63 Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Ivan Toney and Jordan Henderson in? Who's idea was it to give the job to a German? On a serious note, it's looking increasingly like a very functional squad. I've got a feeling we're going to be awful to watch.
Bert Posted 21 May Posted 21 May 38 minutes ago, StanSP said: Who's the LB then? Thought Shaw had it nailed on? Thought Foden would get in. It’ll be O’Reilly. Nowhere near as effective for Tuchel as he is Guardiola.

Lionator Posted 21 May Posted 21 May No Gibbs white all these players being left out, I’m tryna work out who’s in.
Samilktray Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Is this normal the night before a squad announcement? I don’t remember this sort of thing in the past
AKCJ Posted 21 May Posted 21 May My squad; Pickford, Henderson James, Alexander-Arnold, Konsa, Guehi, Maguire, Stones, Hall, O'Reilly Rice, Bellingham, Anderson, Wharton, Lewis-Skelly, Mainoo Saka, Bowen, Rogers, Palmer, Gordon Kane, Watkins 2 players for each position with an additional attacker in Palmer. I think picking a 3rd goalkeeper and a 3rd number 9 is a waste of two spots when we know for a fact that Pickford and Kane will play every game that we need them to. Would much rather get additional legs in midfield by picking Mainoo so we can actually afford to rest Rice properly as well bringing an extra attacking midfielder meaning we can afford to rest Saka and Rogers with little to no drop off. If it was up to me this would be my squad without question with our best side being; Pickford James Konsa Guehi O'Reilly Rice Anderson Bellingham Saka Kane Rogers Runners in midfield, pace in attack, Kane having the freedom to do whatever he wants and an athletic defence. It's coming home.

RowlattsFox Posted 21 May Posted 21 May You do have to factor in characters when it comes to picking players who might not play much. Tuchel has said plenty of times that we he wants to see it as a club squad. Probably why Henderson will be there.

Aleksz Posted 21 May Posted 21 May I make it Pickford, Henderson, Trafford James, Livramento Stones, Guehi, Burn, Konsa, Quansah O’Reilly, Lewis-Skelly Anderson, Henderson, Mainoo, Rice, Bellingham, Rogers, Eze Saka, Madueke, Rashford, Gordon Kane, Toney, Watkins
theessexfox Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Quansah is a bizarre pick - swap him for Maguire, Burn for Lewis Hall, Henderson for Wharton and Toney for MGW and you have a normal good squad 1
fox_up_north Posted 21 May Posted 21 May A colleague was saying include Toney and he works in the game. Said his consistency and movement are key. But also he's been in a farmer's league for 2 years nearly.

Tielemans63 Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Morgan Gibbs-White is incredibly hard done by to not be picked. Bang in form as well. Tuchel making some big calls that don't look like good calls so far 2
Super_horns Posted 21 May Posted 21 May A few surprise admissions and players in but guess you always get that Don’t think a few can complain too much like Foden or Palmer but also think a Hall or MGW will be disappointed plus probably Shaw or Maguire as experienced defenders too .
LCFCCHRIS Posted 21 May Posted 21 May Sad not to see Maguire. Always liked him in the England team, can drive the ball forward well and good for a few headers 1
