There's some people on here who absolutely revel in misery. Its the world cup, just have a beer and watch a couple of daft group games at 2am

It's almost as if people have different opinions

Yep normally cant wait for the WC.

This can feck off.

The times are crap for us and some of the teams in it even LCFC could beat.

Let Trump and Infantino w*nk themselves off what a great event it will be.

NEVER be an Italia90!!!

Now steady on! lol

If you aren’t watching Canada V Bosnia at 2am on a weekday why bother imo.

You know what I mean though, yeah the times are shit for over here and there are some honking games but don’t watch them ones.

I’m over for this one as well. No idea on sports bars but as far as things to do in Boston, so far I’ve got…

Freedom trail walk- it’s mapped on the pavement and guides you around key historical areas/buildings.

Whale watching tours- booked onto one of these and it’s about €70 I think which in the grand scheme of things isn’t too bad for the states.

Salem is a short train ride away. You’ve got Quicy (I think) market which looks like it’s got a decent variety of food.

I’m there from Tuesday night so I can let you know. The fan zone might be a good place to watch a game but you need to pre register to get in and even then it’s first come first serve. I’m watching USA’s first game in there, terrified of the ultras after seeing the videos this week.

If into your food, OnlyScrans Boston video on YouTube worth a watch

Yeah I’ve watched that and a few of his others. Already got some plans for BBQ while in Texas which he didn’t go to but I’ll try out a few of his suggestions.

I never really have an issue with the timezones. World Cup is truly international, they have years doing the same for European based ones. So many ways of catch the goals/highlights etc. In the process, bit like 2002, you get a load of memories thrown in - even the 11pm shift with England V Italy in 2014, where England's World Cup never got better than Sterling's goal. I see England's perfect path includes a 1am in Mexico.

I'm looking forward to seeing the minnows like Curaçao Cape Verde, Jordan, and Uzbekistan hoping for some honest up and at them football and upsets

Yeah Sweet Caroline should've been strangled at birth as a football anthem.

Tbh as much as I'd like a Euro timezone I have to work anyway so I probably wouldn't be able to follow.

Would love Australia/NZ to get it at some point though.

Plan is to watch the highlights the morning after and to rely on Totally Football Show/Football Weekly to help with the other stuff.

Everything about the build up to this tournament has been ghoulishly bad. From ticket prices and FIFA being complete wrong'uns, but you know for sure when we're in it it'll be fun.

Even looking forward to the clamping down on ridiculous time wasting if it actually happens.

Except the 30 min half time in the final. That won't be fun.

Hoping there's a dedicated section being set up on here for this?

IMO the apathy (or even antipathy) towards this WC has little to do with the football itself and everything to do with the main hosts and the attitude of the people running it - football, political and corporate.

You want Scotland to win?

Even Scotland might get through with just 8 teams going out in the group stages.

Some will say the competition doesn't really get started till the knock-out stages.

Obviously the timing of the games and likely one sided nature of many  doesn't help either.

Probably no surprise this

Although Wrexham might want a word !

Curaçao away probably the best kit at the tournament for me. Can’t think of any better off the top of my head

Just seen a BBC article that says they won’t play in it in the groups.

Seen the latest FIFA ticket scandal? Resale sites have had some cheaper tickets appear for games but its whole blocks, it’s been speculated that FIFA are listing them here so that people who paid more can’t take them to court. Shambles.

As the first knock-out round is a round of 32, does that not mean that 16 teams go out after the group stage?

Even the 5am BST kick offs will finish at 2am New York time.

But also, sure you can just watch those games on IPlayer/ITVX from the start.

The first Scotland game is a 2am one but thats the only one I'll be watching. The day after has been made a bank holiday.

But what's going on at the moment in terms of opinion and action speaks for itself.

So FIFA have said you cant take refillable water bottles in  because of fear of missile attacks, when its gonna be so hot the players will be having drinks breaks.

BUT luckily enough you  an buy the said same bottles  INSIDE the ground at FIFA prices which apparently  are so clever they CANT be used as missiles as they have a special anti missile throwing technology patented by Rlon Musk in each one!!!

Was the same at Wembley for a friendly. Had to hand in a full bottle then buy one inside.

Total scam but then anything about football is about ripping off the fans.
