Matt Piper mentioned  the club employing a set pieces coach from abroad on the post match on BBC radio Leicester.

Also said it was held up due to visas problems?

Any ideas if this is true or who it is?

Obviously we're not privy to what goes on behind the scenes and maybe it was totally out of our hands we couldn't get them in sooner; it was apparent we had set piece issues in 20/21. Getting a specialist in as soon as possible would have been logical. Having them here and delivering sessions in preseason when we have more time would have been perfect. Instead, just like our incoming head of recruitment (and analytics you'd imagine) our set piece coach will be joining as the season is underway. It all feels sclerotic behind the scenes.

He's stuck desperately trying and failing to get past the first man at border control....

He was told his passport was ready, but remained in the line and didn’t come out to claim it.

If he's currently working abroad and needs a visa to work in the UK then it's going to be 3/4 months to get that sorted from whenever they started. It's not possible to fast track certain visas currently because priority is going to sort Ukrainians getting here.

Clubs have appointed overseas managers and coaches this summer and got them so there must be some sort of priority system if you chuff up.

Yeah I'm sure a brown paper bag to the home office will speed things up a bit, but the "issues" they're experiencing is probably due to the system prioritising Ukrainian nationals.

Took Burnley about 3 weeks to sort out Kompany's work permit, and then about another 4 weeks on top of that to sort out the backroom staff work permits

Probably helped that Kompany lived over here for 10+ years as well I imagine?

That was also the timeframe of when it was publically in the media as being an issue, so could've been going on for longer

So that's the recruitment team changed twice, the Medical team changed twice and now we're bringing in new coaches. What is Rodgers taking responsibility of now? Has he replaced the Tea Lady?

Last year, I had to wait for my new residency permit for over a year...the Home Office is just completely backed up.

Probably already classed as a UK citizen in some capacity.

That's not how it works. He had the right to work as an EU citizen. Unless he applied for settled status -- which he wouldn't do if he moved back to Belgium -- he is stuck in immigration hell.

Doubt it. He would’ve lived in the UK on his Belgian passport pre-Brexit. Most EU citizens never got UK citizenship because it’s a long and expensive process which you didn’t used to need to stay here.

The key people behind the scenes are doing a frankly terrible job at the minute imo.

Key positions that we've known we need to fill for ages still not filled because of a complete lack of organisation and planning.

Recruitment

Set piece coaches

Right winger

Goalkeeper

I'll gladly revert my opening statement if anyone from the club wants to actually communicate with the fanbase in a meaningful way for once, but I expect the radio silence will continue other than a few notes from Top on Sunday in the matchday magazine.
