Hopefully we promote a few youth products to help save money :fc:

I do wonder if this has been an issue between the board and Brendan: It was almost like he was being stubborn about not playing the youngsters during our injury crisis (outside the Watford Cup game.)

Maybe the board looked at Luke Thomas and even KDH and said "we might save a lot of money if some of these other u21s step up."

I'm with Rodgers in this one. After Christmas last season we were absolutely depleted because of injuries. Do you risk as a manager bringing more U21s or are you trying to find solutions within the squad available players? The guy won a game against Liverpool, I think sometimes we're very harsh with Rodgers.

Found it curious how he mentioned around the 30 minute mark when asked about trimming the squad down, he says "you always think that players want to go and play" and that the challenge is that the club is a "nice place to be."

IMO pretty thinly-veiled frustration confirming what we all know: that we've got a bunch of dossers on the books that we can't shift because they're happy to soak up the substantial dollar whilst barely featuring.

What do you really expect any manager to say…

really..

Dross,dross..not from Rodgers,but the whole fan base…

No support no encouragement…just negative based opinions..

Some trying too long & debate age of squad…gnawing a bone of nonsense.

It is irrelevant, because we have what we have…

The worse, the same  people dying to kick in negatives…..Again!!

Sorry, but you've misunderstood the point I was making if this is your take.

Nice virtue signalling. We're having a discussion.

I thought it was interesting how he mention he felt he need 3 new players for the starting 11.

I assume that would be RW, CM, CB.

Best content BBC radio Leicester has produced in a long time.

Came across as a very open and honest conversation.

Good point! I assume 1 of those was replacing Tielemans who we assumed would go but still interesting to think which other position (GK?) after the obvious weakness at RW and you could argue that Maddison would drop in to the midfield 3 instead of Youri with a shit hot RW.

I don’t think he said anything about selling to buy - he said selling to balance the books - not once does he relate it to then being able to buy - in fact he pretty much hints multiple times throughout the whole interview that he won’t be strengthening the he squad - time will tell I guess

Yes he said about not strengthening the squad which he obviously can’t at the minute - but he did say this may change before the end of the window and mentioned the possibility of strengthening if players went out. He definitely did not rule out bringing in replacements and he didn’t say there was a necessity to sell the best players.

He said something alone the lines of if we were to sell somebody we still wouldn’t be able to sign someone, can’t remember how exactly it was worded now.

I listened carefully and really can’t recall him saying that.

Bottling those top 4 finishes has cost us far more than some on here would like to admit. And they were bottled before anybody comes at me with the 'we were in league one 10 years ago' argument

What

Where did you get that from? This has us 9th, and that will reduce further when Kasper leaves.

Let's just assume you're right, for the sake of argument. Now will you shut up about it?

Finishing 5th back to back was a great achievement.

Let's not remove the context of how commanding our lead was on the first occasion, as well as Chelsea having a transfer embargo and Man United being a shambles for the first-half of that season. The second fifth place on the other hand was impressive, given that we were in Europe and also won the FA Cup.

Didn’t feel like it when we were getting turned over by Bournemouth and Norwich in the second half of 19/20
