What do you think is going well at the moment?

Well we're definitely not in free fall off the pitch which was being suggested. Vardy just got a new contract, we're holding firm on the Fofana fee, Maddison hasn't been sold, we're financially sound with decent owners but affected by FFP which is out of our control.

Like I said, things are on a bit of a low at the moment but free fall is a bit of a stretch for me.

I think the biggest mistake the board made was giving Rodgers too much power.

We’re suffering through a power struggle and the prolonged last gasps of an outgoing manager.

Definitely this concerned me even when we were originally linked and the rumours Congerton was coming with him, a part of me thinks he's sulking at the club letting his mate go which I believe was one of the guarantees he wanted upon joining. Also found it interesting when he commented about wanting to keep Lookman here not long after Congerton took him to Atalanta even though he wasn't getting a look in towards the end of last season - was that just another dig?

You on the turn now too?

Not yet...

But appreciate when someone actually puts decent points forward...

Plus this ain't the "12 Angry men"

Scenario..

I agree with most of the original post, though I am less willing to give Rodgers a total caning.

There is a lot of negativity around the place at the moment. I have always been one to support first and only boo in exceptional circumstances.

These young lads aren’t going out to play badly and within themselves, but they are feeding off a negative and uncertain culture - including from the stands. We can try and impact on this as fans. I don’t think the boos are warranted right now - let’s get behind them!

Let’s go all Braveheart, get the war paint out and ride into battle and be bloody loud about it.

In other words, can we have the clappers back please?

The boos were directed at Rodgers that was obvious wasn’t it?

Then perhaps a more Simpson-esque Boo-Urns type booing is required otherwise the direction of said booing exists on in the boo-ers heads.

It's not always as obvious to see/know what is going on at the top of a club unless it's Man United and their failings have been clear for many years. Problems on the pitch are always more clear and our problems on the pitch have been brewing for a long time. We've not looked great for over a year and the injuries last year gave Rodgers an excuse but now his excuses are running dry. Who/what mistakes have been made at the top will probably never be known to us unless somebody gets sacked, which they won't!

Agree with the OP. Rogers should absolutely shoulder some of the burden for the issues we face on the pitch (personally I want him to go), but it does feel as though a lot of ill-thought-out decisions at all levels coming home to roost at the moment: no cash for new players, a massive wage bill, a bloated team filled with fringe players no-one wants, contracts all coming to an end at the same time, lacklustre perormances on the pitch. I'd even question the wisdom of spending hundreds of millions on a new training ground over prioritising the stadium expansion - maybe it will work to attract players, but it smacks of buying yourself a nice new present on the tick, it's not improving our performances, and it has a slight stench of Sunderland about it. And I also wonder if its wise to hold out for £80m for Fofana, when its delaying any prospect of new signings.

This all makes it sound like I'm way more critical of the club and its decisions than I really am - and in the end, I know nothing - but if you think about it, it feels like there's more rather than less to worry about.

Congerton joining Atalanta was announced in March, it was rumoured even before then - we used the 4 months until the transfer window opened to appoint a Head of Recruitment who couldn't join until the window closed. That's just dysfunctional. It's not as if Glover was the man, nobody else compared. If we couldn't get him in place, we recruit somebody else instead.

I know it's early days but it is very concerning that Brighton, Crystal Palace and Leeds, teams we would expect to finish above, all look much fitter and hungrier than us. I know you only see the highlights on MOTD but nearly every team looked so much sharper, adventurous and threatening.

On another point, despite the poor second half performance v Soton, I was very disappointed to see the number of fans leaving all around me when there were still 6 mins of stoppage time added. Ok people pay their money and are entitled to do what they like, but It seemed like a metaphor for the general negativity currently surrounding the club.

The club have gone stale and the priorities are all wrong. Losing out on 60k on match days when revenue is tight because of a stupid decision to push fox memberships? Clearly not enough has been sold because there was 2000 empty seats on Saturday.

Not just that the footballing decisions are a mess and have been ever since the training ground was finished.

Too many comfortable people that have had smoke blown up their backsides for far too long. A change is needed and dare I say it maybe even some fresh investment. King Power are clearly feeling the effects of the pandemic so it might be time to bring someone else to the table, someone else with new ideas.

I'm not advocating KP sell up but in my eyes the best owners tag is starting to wear a bit thin. Only so far free beers every now and then can go.

Definitely the higher ups deserve criticism. Rodgers must shoulder the blame for the playing side, but contracts is a Rudkin responsibility. He's the one whose offered 70/80000 contracts to all and sundry. Also Top did say that  finances will be there for players midway through last season. On that front Rodgers is right, we do need a refresh as a club and not allowing any money to be released without selling is an issue. Especially since we spent 100M on a new training facility and all its brought is injury after injury. Trying to buy a ticket for casual supporters is a joke. There's a lot wrong. The issue is can Top solve it. He's still a young man trying to run his dad's multibillion company. Vichai built the company and you cant buy that kind of experience. We're definitely not too big or good to get relegated.
