KDH on the right

Seeing as we’ve failed to address this position once again, I thought he looked decent there during the second half and it allowed Maddison to play central instead of being wasted out wide.

 

He’s got a lot of the qualities I think we’re after for that position, the tenaciousness Perez and Albrighton have and can play that inverted role as he’s left footed so drifts inside, I think it’s worth a go as we’ve got nothing else going for us there.

It worked better just cause it allowed Maddison to get in the middle and he’s by far our best player right now. Has to be first name on the team sheet in the number 10 role.

 

KDH was poor for me tonight. Energy and effort is always there but his passing was woeful…still one of our better players though which just shows how bad the rest were

I'm torn on it, i like him being central and pressing and being able to run the game but it might work.

 

He was shocking at times tonight though when he was playing centrally, infuriating.

Could be the answer, in the short term anyway. Seemed to be working but then move back centrally. Classic Rodgers. 

 

Was shown up when moved to a central 2 and I think Rodgers knows this because we've changed to a 3 to accommodate him.

I think the next manager will have Tielemans, Maddison & KDH in rotation instead of shoehorning them all into the first 11.

 

KDH did look ok on the right though, if Brendan stays it’s not the worst idea

Doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. For as long as Rodgers is boss, we're going down no matter who he plays and where.

Worked better for allowing Maddison to play centrally and made some good driving runs from the right at the start of the second half. Can't see it as his long-term position but would have him over every other option we have there.

I had this weird thought ages ago he could play wide right link a iniesta role but then I remembered he isn’t iniesta. 
 

on a serious note why not, has some pace and Maddison is clearly better in the middle

His passing / final ball is pretty awful, I like him, but I’m afraid he isn’t anything special.

I agree with this. I admire KDHs many qualities but but for me he lacks the balance to play in the middle, takes too many touches to get it onto his left foot. We still need him in the team but on the right would work.

I think we should try Iheanacho on the right. It's not like Perez was ever a conventional winger in 19/20. Iheanacho can score, create and hold the ball up, we're better when he plays

Yes but his not a CM, and BR will not try him there.

 

I'd give it a go.

 

 

Still trying to understand when Barnes was out he wasn't willing to ask Vardy to play as a left forward and Nacho down the middle.

Because Rodgers doesn’t rate Nacho, hence the bit part role he barely gives him.

...even the Rodgers effect is starting to bring him down, they all regress eventually!!!

He has been a massive plus for the team and you just sometimes have an off game. KDH had previously been deployed on the right in the old U23s, it did not feel right for him but he attempted to dictate the game from there. The best part of his game is not coming through as he has a wand of a left foot but is struggling to get that part of his game to the same level as everything else and it is not coming off.

  He knows there is more to come as he had said so in interviews, it is just not happening and for him, I would suppose it is quite frustrating.

He does have a fantastic left foot but at the same time he needs to work on his right which is fairly weak to be a a PL level central midfielder. That's just my opinion I find he slows play down by not trusting his right peg and having to get it on his left. He doesn't need to be able to use it for screamers outside the box or through balls but needs to be comfortable using it to control the ball and make simple passes. 

 

Look at Youri, he'll pass with whichever foot makes most sense and gives him the best angle to make the space and KDH could do with learning this while Youri is still around.
