Especially overnight when it creeps up to 70% and above as well.

East Asia come summertime is utterly awful in that regard. Air conditioning is a necessity over there.

The UK is on the trajectory to be similar. Soon.

I've had a cold shower every night this week before bed. It's the only way.

Not looking forward to work tomorrow in 30+°

No doubt RM will give usual health & safety lip service while still insisting everything gets done on time (and no earlier starts like the binmen - must be great to work for someone who values their staff).

I find it odd that people travel abroad to "get some sun", yet when we get it here people can't stand it.

I understand the point that high temperatures in the UK are becoming more frequent due to the reasons you have (rightly) proffered many times.

Dude cmon now. I’ve been in the Middle East in 51 degrees in jeans and t shirt and not sweated.
Uk ‘heat’ is pure soggy humidity. And obviously on a normal day we have to wear our monkey suits, drive cars on highways and sit in offices and work. Not happy clap a sh1tty Spanish all inclusive resort

Don't mind the heat. Humidity fvcks it up.

Yep exactly. Heat and humidity are totally different things. If you’re happy clapping around a child friendly resort in Halidiki, it’s v different to working 12 hours as a labourer in Barnsley on a day like today

Putting ice on or around either your hands or feet immediately brings the body temperature down and sleep soon follows.I use a latex glove filled with water then frozen when I can be arsed

Anyone got any fan recommendations? From handheld to tower. Need an upgrade.

Get a Leicester City fan, complete with clapper.

Sadly though, they can let off a lot of hot air.

Had a dyson for years but it finally gave up the ghost, so got a Shark, both pedestal and table top (cordless then, fan slips off the pedestal ) and has a mister to spray you water (for outside use)

Pretty happy with tbh

That was a fvcking vile night!

Both fans on basically just circulating 24 degree disgusting warm air, can barely have the windows open as the Cats would bugger off.

Was praying for daylight from 2am as it always seems to cool a little then

You gotta love us Brits relationship with the weather - we’re never happy :D

In a few months we’ll all be moaning about the cold and rain as the nights draw in.

Agreed but it is far easier to warm up in cold weather. This stale air brings no respite, no breeze to cool things and the nights are so uncomfortable.

We aren't generally in a position to write off sleepless nights with our working patterns, too.

The challenge we have and it’s a “British Heat” thing, we don’t have air conditioning houses and they’re built to withhold heat.

Today is one of those bizarre, warm, humid, it might rain cats and dogs day.

We all just need a good electronic storm for a few hours, as that would be fascinating and cool everything down.

I close everything in the day, blinds, windows etc, just to keep the heat out.

I opened everything up around 2AM. The 6 Velux windows on our top level were great, as the hot air rushed out of them. It was saying it was 31c when I went up!

Today's high 35 feels like 45 where im at.   Staying inside with the AC except my daughter has a birthday party to attend between 1 and 3pm.

Will need to brave the 20 foot walk from front door to AC precooled car and  maybe 10m walk from car to drop off location lol. In that time, I expect full on Swass.
