Currently got mine set at 19 24 hours a day due to baby but also interesting to see if it's any more expensive than having it on at certain times.

How's that going? I've just changed ours to do this today.

Ours has been on for a good few hours every day,  the past few days. The wifi router blew up in the September storm, which happened to be the day we went on holiday. So, annoyingly I was unable to switch the heating on with the app before our return this week. Just back to a defect temperature so, trying the constant settingrather then off/on.

Had a new Worcester Bosch boiler fitted Friday to replace my old worn out boiler but have mostly had the windows open,  was quite ill Thursday at work and was dropped off at the LRI due to chest pains and a high temp, turned out I had a chest infection and am on a course of antibiotics, ibuprofen and paracetamol.

When the guy was replacing my boiler I just checked out on my sofa but the boiler works fine.

Temps gone back to normal now but still feeling crappy.

Todays Pensioners are literally the wealthiest generation to ever live - I see absolutely no reasons why they should get given money WITHOUT means testing. Nobody else gets given money without means testing including the very poorest in society, so it makes perfect sense to me to at least means test the wealthiest generation before giving them hand-outs. Fact is 85% of over 65's vote Tory, so it was always going to cause a storm.

Absolutely. They've kinda earned it because they vote in such huge numbers but also c'mon. Like you said the wealthiest generation to ever live, mainly built up due to unearned wealth, and that record will presumably carry on for a few generations.

What?

Where has this "unearned wealth" come from?

Who are the pensioners that are "literally the wealthiest generation to ever live"?

Completely unsubstantiated rhetoric. I don't disagree that there are some that don't need the WFA, particularly those that live abroad, however they are BY FAR in the minority.

I've responded to these post previously, but for some reason they got deleted.

If you bought your house for £21.67 in 1972 and it’s now worth £700k you’ve not earned that wealth. There are multiple reports stating the baby boomers are the wealthiest generation to ever live. None of this is new news and is clearly inarguable

I had my heating on for an hour on Sunday and an hour last night. That's it so far.

My place is holding steady at 19°C

I might have to change if we get that metre of snow forecast for next week...yeah, right lol

Do you live in an insulation factory or something.

How the **** does a house hold 19 when it's 4 outside?

Central Heating is such woke nonsense

Agreed, my combi boiler tries to heat everyone in the house equally, not that my other half agrees.

Could my non working central heating be making an anti woke statement?

I wish it had chosen a warmer week to protest.

This week there appears to be a full blown refusal to negotiate with snowflakes

We currently haven't got any heating in this house we're renovating. The old boiler is disconnected and all the old radiators have been skipped.

Waiting on our plumbing/heating bloke to order/install new ones but ideally we need all rooms replastered and painted first which we've only just started.

Jumpers and blankets for us all whether we like it or not.

Noticed a bit of a chill a couple of mornings and my first thought was how soon this thread would be resurrected.

The house temperature hasn't dropped near or below 19c yet so, the heating hasn't kicked in.

Did spend part of yesterday looking at adding more loft insulation, another 170mm to add to the 150mm should hopefully be beneficial.

I had that idea myself when doing similar, we ended up moving out for a period. It's all well and good thinking along those lines in September  but when it -3/4 it's not fun and really uncomfortable

Hope you get it sorted ASAP
