I'm trying to be positive by remembering Boxing Day when we expected an embarrassing defeat but somehow pulled off the win of the season by beating Liverpool. Not saying its going to happen again but CP ain't Liverpool and if our players are mentally switched on and put in the effort (and get the luck, lots of it) then it might not be as bad as we expect. 

 

I'm optimistic by nature

Adding iverson and soyoncu back to the first 11 can bring a big confidence boost to the team and the fans. I can’t see it happening but it should iverson defo deserves a chance to prove him self in the league. 2-1 win and vardy to score the winner

It's like walking into the exam room when you know you've not studied and been out on the piss the night before.

 

You're there. You turn up under some misguided belief that there might be some kind of miracle... but you just know what's going to happen. I'm not sure I've felt this low and lacking in belief before a game. It's not that I always expect to win, I hope to obviously but not expect to. You anticipate defeat for some matches obviously, but you go into them with some kind of belief that you'll turn up and put in an effort. This is different. I have a sense of inevitability, I expect.... nothing short of cluster ****.

 

We're having the rug pulled before we even take the field. Rodgers will attempt to play Rodgersball despite not having the players for it. There is not a chance in hell that he'd revert to a defensive set up, e.g. 5 at the back (Castagne, Faes, Veste, Cags, Justin) with Mendy and Soumare in DM roles. I truly believe Rodgers is either so ****ing stubborn in his belief that he is right that he will not change, and blame the inevitable thumping on player mistakes and 'lack of quality', OR he actually does want to go out in a blaze, burning everything around him to the ground. He will never accept that his plans, his idea of football, will not work, will never work.

 

We're going to get dicked. No way can I escape that belief.

The really annoying thing is I used to be the really annoying fan who was endlessly positive and claiming we were going to win every game, win the league, all the cups and hugely over optimistic. Rodgers has killed that spirit in me and at the moment I can’t see where are next win is coming from.

Yeah, it's one of them isn't it...

 

Early KO means my misery may not seep into the afternoon as I can start commissary drinking when it's finished in the hope that the manager is relieved from duty if we are panned. On the flip side, like you say - a draw with 'signs of more promise' and he stays a while longer and the agony of the hope of maybe he may turn it around manifests. I can see however a weird argument for if we are going to lose, do it in a spectacular style and hammer the coffin shut with one big final massive extra galvanised no messing 6 inch heavy duty muther.

 

We have had it good for so long really - I remember being a ST holder in the noughties watching us roll out to horrendous performances, football and tactics over the years but the last half decade I feel like for a team of our size and stature, as a fan - I've completed football. Maybe its healthy to go through this misery as otherwise you never really know and appreciate what victory and a meteoric rise to ascendency can feel like without it.
