If they’re serious about all tickets being Etickets next year then this needs changing.

At Arsenal you can resell unlimited times or transfer to a family/friend for a £1 admin charge also unlimited times.

At United I believe you can transfer/resell 9 times.

If someone wants to resell unlimited or 9 times a season though, I would question why they have a ST in the first place.

There has to be a limit otherwise it’s just preventing others who want to get a ST.

I agree but 3 times is nowhere near enough.

Genuine question, what should you do if you have a ticket but can no longer attend a game and you don't have friends or family to give the ticket to? What is the correct protocol if you are allowed to sell the ticket?

The club could reduce the demand for private sales in an instant by eg increasing the number of times a season you can sell your ticket back and putting more tickets on general sale. Having to fork out a full membership to see the occasional game is a con.

Same as a train ticket, it goes unused. It’s a con but it’s a con we all sign up to. If you don’t like the system, use it to your advantage. Presuming this person is a season ticket holder, the resale platform works very well and you can use it more than 3 times if you make up an excuse. If he’s bought an individual match ticket, call the club and make up an excuse to get a refund. Echoing other posters I can’t fathom why you’d risk the clear consequences for a £20 return. He’s obvs not innocent and blameless in all this. Maybe I'm too risk averse

Use the clubs resale platform, assuming you're referring to a season ticket. And hope it sells. If its a single game ticket, there is no protocol.

Caveating the family/friends bit i think they also need to hold some level of membership but still a lot more flexible than ours.

Still technically breaking the law, I've no idea how they get away with it.

It’s not for every fan You can only do this if you are a gold or platinum member at Arsenal,

to get to be gold or platinum you need to have been a member for X amount of years, current waiting list for gold membership is around 14 years,

members below the platinum and gold level are not allowed to use the ticket resale platform

It's the law. In England and Wales, it's a criminal offence to sell (or even give away) a ticket for a sporting event. The rationale is too criminalise ticket touting but unfortunately regular fans are caught up by the same legislation.

As far as I understand, it doesn't include other entertainment events such as theatre shows and the like. Is it just football, including non-Premier League, or any sports?

To resell their ticket, not to receive one rereading it again nonmember arsenal family members can receive a ticket through the transfer service but it would have to be print at home.

The moving of matches to midweek (especially short notice) is causing difficulties for many fans so demand for resale increases.

The club make a nice little profit from reselling your seat, especially if its a Grade A match.

United STs have to buy Cup tickets off memory - hence its that many. Man United are also in the unique position knowing that ticket will sell

I don’t really have much sympathy if i’m honest.

Yeah the ban is harsh, but everyone know’s the rules when it comes to tickets. Ticket touts are a major problem in the entertainment business and have been for a long time. If you need to sell the ticket, use the proper channels, or at least give it to a mate who’ll give you £20 who is trustworthy, or inform the club. There’s genuine fans who for a long time haven’t been able to get a ticket, and touts price them out of the game. That’s why the club have the resell scheme, to let genuine fans watch the game at a reasonable price.

You shouldn’t be allowed on here to advertise tickets for sale - maybe that’s one thing the mods and admins can sort out.

Stadium ban for £20. Mental haha, that’s the price of about 3 hot dogs in the ground.

A two year ban for that is an absolute joke as well.

....if you take the circumstances out of it, and someone, who had bought a ticket from the club and sought to profit from this, by selling it elsewhere other than back to the club, you would feel his punishment was justified, it is the choice he chose to make afterall!!!

In this circumstance, someone trying to help another person, is on the receiving end of someone else's profiteering,  then it does feel harsh and unbending.

Good luck with the appeal, with all the best intentions,  it is hard to trust others and this tale will make it even harder.

As someone has already stated, you'll be lucky if you get your season ticket after 2 years. In selling it as you did the club according to the stated terms have terminated your contract for your ticket.

One would assume that you would have to re apply to be a season ticket holder and as such name your will go to the bottom of the list!

Good luck with that.

Not really. With the stadium expansion and the points he has already accrued, he should have no problem getting a new one

Well, yeah, but I renew my ST knowing this. I buy away tickets knowing this. People know how the PL work, they don't care about match going fans and matches are moved.

It's been happening for 30 years and it's got worse over recent years, it's not like it's new and a big surprise.

Yeah lets have a forum where people can willingly advertise selling tickets, and then they get a ban. It makes sense to prevent people from doing it so they avoid the wrath of the club.

 Loser.

So you’d rather people fork out around £100 for a membership and a ticket for a one off match because of a couple of people being idiots?
